Did you know they're doing a movie about the Hunt for Gollum? I thought Rings of Power was not a terrible idea, but that sounds like a terrible idea.

I saw that in the news. Like, who cares about that story? Tolkien didn't say much. I think Aragorn didn't like talking about it

They are just trying to leverage the IP for a cash grab.

I really think people in power these days in general are mostly not smart at all and narcissistic.

With so many good content that Tolkien has to provide, they pick "Hunt for Gollum"?? As a series, with more screen hours than the whole Lord of the Rings series??? Wow, that is really dumb and sound a lot tedious.

Another thing, since Tolkien story and writing is good, there is not really much reason to do major changes (only, of course, some shortening to fit it on screen).

I think Beren and Luthien could make a great series or movie, but to be fair, I don't think anyone has the rights to that.

They're just bound and determined to make me love this show that so many seem to hate. and they're doing a fine job so far. But yeah, Im with you on the boots. Im not saying Mario has to be able to walk on those black pirana plants while smashing goobas and koopas, but just a little bit of heel and yellow adjacent isnt gonna cut it for me.

Maybe this is the story all about how his life got flipped and turned upside down; he'd like to take a season, though he's a busy fellow, to show us all how he got his boots most yellow?

I never thought he was a boring character. He was fun, fascinating and fey. The kind of guy you want to meet on the road, but not really travel with because eventually the sheer crushing weight of his awesomeness will overshadow the journey. John Candy would have made a great Tom Bombadil.
