The year is coming to an end and here is how the polling looks like in "interesting places".
Netherlands — 2023 general election
In elections a few weeks ago far right had a surprise surge and came out first (what shocked many) . However as the time is passing the growth isn't stopping, another post election polls was made a now there is even more support. The new dot is all the way up there at about 32%. The average is lagging but if this is true this is pretty big deal. Since at this level of support you start to take over various towns and regions. Plus it is becoming kinda obvious that the country will vote like this in the upcoming federal elections.
Belgium — 2024 general election
Two far right parties are at the top, third is far left.
Austria — National parliament voting intention
Far right is first and growing.
Czech Republic — National parliament voting intention
Orban friendly centrists in commending lead.
Germany — National parliament voting intention
The only two parties that are growing are center right and far right.
The far right has the best numbers ever.
Estonia — 2023 general election
Sudden surge of the center right to the first place.
Far right is second.
Spain — 2023 general election
After the controversy of the left over making new government with Catalan separatists center right took visible lead.
France — National parliament voting intention
Far right first. Reactive populist left second. Macron third.
Greece — 2023 general election
Collapse of the far left, center right in clear lead.
Croatia — National parliament voting intention
Center right first, sum of far right parties would be second, ex Communists third.
Hungary — National parliament voting intention
Orban in clear lead.
Italy — National parliament voting intention
National conservatives in evident lead.
Poland — 2023 general election
Far right first, center right coalition second, rural right+libertarians third, ex Communists forth, ultra nationalists fifth.
Portugal — 2024 general election
Center left and center right in dead heat before elections. But far right is sneaking up on them, so this could end as Netherlands.
If they continue to grow like this for a few more months they will be within the striking distance to come first.
Romania — National parliament voting intention
Ex Communists first, far right second, center right third.
Sweden — National parliament voting intention
National conservative populists in second place and growing.
Slovenia — National parliament voting intention
The centrist are melting and they are being replaced by the center right.
The president of that party was one of the first leaders to congratulate Trump on 2020 victory.
Country doesn't have a strong far right party since center right is quite to the right.
Slovakia — 2023 general election
Ex Communists first and third.
Etc.
So yeah, the upcoming federal elections will be very very "interesting" (they are in early June).
Thus if the current picture materializes there will evidently be some large scale changes within the system. Since this shows that liberal-centrist ideas are in evident retreat all over the map. Especially since the center right is moving right in order to give far right less space.
There are some smaller countries that were skipped but there the picture is either similar or the place is quite small and thus not too relevant. However in big picture all of this suggests pretty big changes ahead. Potentially this is a "brave new world" scenario.
