True but most Republicans are.
He reminds me of villain from a 70's Burt Reynolds movie. A Modern Day Boss Hogg. He sounds like one of those jokes from the 90's about how white people talk.

It's rarely discussed but DeSantis was a naval officer, attorney and the legal advisor to Seal Team One . He was a lawyer at Gitmo and well...you all can read below.

He also worked for the DOJ and US attorney in Florida. He isn't stupid and knows the law very well, unlike Trump. He's also an evil piece of shit that has no business being the governor of Fl let alone the president. This is why I would rather run against Trump but also his baggage and lack of focus.

I know, this is why I said what I said without being explicit. Research the guy rather than watch TV jokes about him.

With how things are going I am unsure that he will manage to jump over the Trump wall in 2024. However if he manages I am pretty sure he will be much stronger opponent. Not to mention that he is something like 35 years younger than Biden. What is evidently underestimated fact that will become quite visible once a first debate starts.

Olaf Scholz faces new probe over German tax fraud scandal

This is from today. In other words in a genuine democracy it is normal that there are constantly some probes and from time to time high level convictions. Since this pressure is the only thing that allows that corruption doesn't completely take over. Plus this is why it is good to have genuine multi-party system. Since then stuff like this look less partisan, because the power is dispersed on more groups.

I am currently watching Nancy Percy's documentary on Vladimir Putin. It's fascinating to hear the descriptions of the Minsk negotiations back in the day. You get a detailed picture of nightlong talks (Francois Holland: "We didn't get to eat the food the Belarussians had prepared for us and had sandwiches instead which weren't quite fresh anymore")

The Western heads of state interviewed for the documentary all confirm Poroshenko's memories of Putin lying to everybody's face while knowing that they knew that he was lying. Apparently when Poroshenko told him to withdraw Russian soldiers from the separatist regions Putin replied (in Russian): "There are no Russian soldiers there"*. At that point Angela Merkel exclaimed to Putin (also in Russian): "Oh, please, stop it already".

He also seems to systematically come late to meetings and let guests wait to show dominance (let alone the infamous moment when he tried to intimidate Merkel with his dog).

It's also interesting how America's war in Iraq keeps being a liability for the Western world as a whole. When the rest of the G8 wanted to do somthing about Assad in Syria Putin reminded David Cameron of Abu Ghraib. Whenever a European talks about evidence of war crimes somewhere in the world you'll hear supporters of authoritarian regimes mention Colin Powell...

* What about these soldier's tags here that we found? - No idea where you got those
What about the soldiers found there? - They're on vacation
We called their families and they said their husbands/sons, etc were on a mission in the Donbass- No, they were driving on a mission on Russian territory and got lost

With all due respect; their families wouldnt have any idea where they were; civilian families of soldiers tend to not have the security clearance to know much of anything about where their family member is deployed, with the exceptions of some minor TDY's and what happens TDY stays TDY, but deployed in theater, yeah the families wouldnt know and the UCMJ frowns on bullet catchers who violate security clearance, so grain of salt anytime a civilian thinks they know where a soldier really is. Combat Security is one of those things if the public has ANY idea of a thing that's going on, that specific OP... it's already over. The other thing is civilian family members are kind of given tutorials about the danger to their family member if their FDL is compromised, so most folks in and around the military...keep their mouths shut and color, you know, because of the implication...At the end of the day inf you serve, you're legally a slave to the military, and the UCMJ is no soft punch legal system; and thats assuming they even live long enough to make it to a tribunal. Accidents happen. It's not a nice place. And the people are psychologically conditioned that you cannot cannot CANNOT trust civilians. Can't speak to how Russia does things, apart from a shocking lack of readiness for what they planned, but Putin seems like a guy who doesnt surround himself with wise counsel. Any empire(US included) is gonna have problems playing well with others, because countries dont have morals they have interests. It sucks. It's not sustainable long term, and its doomed to dust, but then that's life. :(

The GOP continues to put forward shit candidates with shit messages and they just double down on the stupid.

True, person with half a brain just can't vote for at least half of their candidates. Therefore some of these people a just unelectable where they are running. Abortion ban in 2023 !? This is your main talking point !?

Wisconsin should have been fairly close but it seems that the final margin will be around 11 points. What is quite high for the state. What then suggests evident candidate quality problems. In other words it is 2023 and that means that everyone below 42 is Gen Y or Gen Z. Today you just don't have the demographic to run so old school policy even if you believe in it.

Oh, this wasn't about WHERE the soldiers were on duty. It was about WHETHER they were on duty. According to the Kremlin those soldiers who where seen in the seperatist regions were there privately "on vacation" while they had apparently told their families that they were away on duty.

What's behind fewer Black than White people (in the general population) wanting the Republicans to stop talking about the ills of wokeness?

I'm just speculating, but I perceive "wokeness" in general as a white liberal movement and might leave a bad taste in black activists' mouths by sucking up all the air in the room without addressing real black issues and even trying to [be white people who think they are] represent[ing] black people's interests while not doing anything of the sort. It kind of torpedoes actual black issues by taint of association.

That's what came to mind when i saw that article. Not sure, though.

Sounds plausible. Ironically though, that criticism itself as well as the demand to not take public attention away from minorities and concerned groups, etc is all part and parcel of the "woke" worldview/agenda, as far as I understand.

The volume of stuff that gets co-opted by white people is astounding, especially post Ferguson.

But something like "being woke" or the ridiculous Kente cloth draped liberal clowns have virtue signaled their way into actually causing things to be even worse for blacks and super annoying to the rest of us.

Stand with black people, not for them. Don't speak for black people, amplify what they have to say. If even a fraction of liberals did this, it would be so helpful.
