Did you watch Dallas get torched just now? Two touchdowns from the Redskins (Yes I know they call themselves The Washington Football team now, but, fuck that, they are and will always be the Redskins to me) in about 1 minute.

Yep. This was a great Thanksgiving for me. Call this early Christmas, too.

Despite the injury, Alex Smith looks serviceable thus far. With him back at the helm, and with a pretty good defensive unit, I imagine they'll end up taking that division. Philadelphia looks like a dumpster fire, and I don't know what the Giants are. Daniel Jones ain't it...

Imagine this: The Buccaneers are the 5-seed. They play 4-seeded Washington in the Wild Card round. Everyone expects Tompa Bay to turn into Stompa Bay, but...hold up...who's that. Oh no, hide ya ladies, gentlemen, it's Alex StudSmith! Washington proceeds to win 31-24 because Brady threw 2 interceptions, one of them being a pick 6.

Am I getting too carried away with this fantasy? Probably. But, just imagine.

You really aren't, though. With Alex Smith back, Washington is probably a little better than their record indicates. Tampa Bay, on the other hand, carves up medicore/bad teams and makes themselves look better than what they are, but the biggest Achilles heel for them thus far is when Brady get pressured he falls to pieces. Washington has a pretty sick front 4 who can get to the quarterback. If they met in the playoffs I wouldn't be surprised if it was a close Tampa victory or if Washington pulls the upset. So far it seems the Saints will win that division and Tom had never made it to a superbowl playing from a wildcard spot.

The real question is if Alex Smith beats Brady in the postseason for the first time, will Brady shake his hand? Brady is 0-3 thus far against sportsmanship after losses.

Sidenote: I don't really wanna hear about Tom Brady being that competitive that he is too upset to shake hands. That's chickenshit. When they upset Mahomes in the AFC championship 2 years ago, Brady was the first one to walk up and shake his hand and give him that fake complimentary nod of bragging on an opponent you just beat (that seems very humble brag-ish, anyway), yet when he loses he runs to the locker room faster than his combine 40 time. I'm out on that.

Oh, it's absolute bullshit. I'm tired of bad sportsmanship being chalked up to "being competitive"; it's such a tired take. Not to get moralistic, but if you can't demonstrate a healthy, mutual respect for your competition on the field or court after an intense game, then I think your legacy should be spoiled a little bit. I get it, you're there to win games and losing sucks, but it's just off-putting to me.

Agreed. The Raiders should definitely have a lot to feel excited about. They're much better than I thought they were.

I hadn't seen the Raiders play this season but found them impressive. Carr showed good instincts in the pocket and Trayvon Mullen made a blockbuster interception at the end of the second quarter to stop what would have been a KC touchdown. For a good portion of the game both teams were makin' first downs at will.

They could earn a wildcard spot and try to put a run together. Derek Carr is playing some of the best football he has played since the 12-4 season a few years ago under Jack Del Rio.

Matt Patricia fired. Belichick's coaching tree continues to prove doodoo.

Update: Michigan loses to 0-5 Penn State??? Rough day for football coaches in the state of Michigan.

When is Harbaugh gonna stop messing around and go back to the NFL. There's gonna be a bunch of vacant head coaching positions after this season is over. Also, if I were Matt Stafford they couldn't pay me enough money to stay in that dumpster fire that is the Detroit Lions -- he's wasted his career there.
