If its the same movie I'm thinking of it had a fantastic soundtrack and I liked it a lot, although I'd also say that it featured some seriously harmful behaviour in a kind of pranking and trolling, this is all fun, idea, like when they steal some guys identity offline and compete to do the worst with it, it was great as a movie but offline, in real life that would be some serious and criminal shit.

I'm not surprised that this is big in the Trump camp, its fully engaged with this weird "late and long" male adolescence, its fueled by a lot of equal weight being given to fiction and reality, like a "reality TV" show star is their leader, the Matrix, Total Recall, a bunch of other movies that flatter themselves that they possess depth, when they really dont and are only meant to be a bit of fun, matter more to them than any manifesto (of which most of theirs are derivative too).

I laugh every time the right holds Ben Shapiro up as some kind of intellectual. The never had a very deep bench to begin with tho.

You’re missing the point. He may not be serious, but if he is just a satirist, then he often does a poor job of making that clear. He is a highly influential online presence and much of his audience seems to unironically accept him at face value. There is a difference between say, a George Carlin type joking about being all for more guns and shootings and someone like Shapiro who has never made a strong effort to make clear if he is just a satirist as you suggest. Proven white nationalists who have targeted Jews and POCs have followed Shapiro.

And his logic is garbage, he DOES start with conclusions and presuppositions, basically arguing circular reasoning. He’s as bad as twitter feminists.

He is a prime example of how Te types will use blunt force to make points, and at a glance appear logically sound. But it all falls apart under scrutiny. They can talk fast and be very persuasive but I’d challenge you to make a fun thought experiment and go see how many logical flaws you can find in his various videos, tweets, writings, etc. Pretend he’s Anita Sarkeesian if it makes it easier for you.

I thought you were all for journalistic integrity and logic, so why are you so averse to people on your side being put under the same skeptical lens you would surely expect left wingers to be under?
