The first thought that came to mind is 'shit for brains' because shit is what flies are attracted to. Pence was in an indefensible position through no fault of his own. I wouldn't go so far as to say it's no fault of his own. He knew what Trump was when he signed on. Maybe he didn't know the potential of what Trump would become, but he knew enough. He signed up for it, and he remains complicit.

Perfectly stated. With the caveat that it'd sure sustain more/help a lot of people if they unshelved the pandemic assistance they stopped working on. You know, the one supposedly designed to help individuals and small businesses that'll happen after the election is Trump is re-elected (even though he's been capable this whole time and for some strange reason hasn't done it yet).

The thing I find most unsettling is that Pence seems to be onboard Operation Refuse To Leave. He refused to commit to a peaceful transition, and apparently doesn't believe current polls. "I know in my heart Trump will win this election." And unlike Trump, he's actually confabulated a (still pure bullshit, but calm and less moronic/hysterical bullshit) reason that supporters who still believe Russian interference is/was a "hoax" will likely latch onto and regurgitate endlessly as their own talking point about it. Even though it's 100% fantasy. The impeachment was never about "undoing the election."
