Trump shares quite decent amount of traits with authoritarian figures from Europe's past. However he still has quite a few American traits due to which such comparisons can look shallow. Therefore drawing parallels all over the place perhaps isn't the best way to attract people. Plus just as I said Trump itself is just the symptom of the problem(s). Would he ever become president in the case that he had at least somewhat likable or moral counter-candidate ? Would he stay the president in the case that his own party in the Senate looks at arguments or big picture ? Would he become president in the case that someone for decades wasn't preparing culture and economy that will be the the landing site of his political power ? What can be said about American media culture if even after everything that happened he still has a decent chance of being reelected ? (polls and tweets aren't real politics that is fact based)
However these are questions that require some reflection and the US is so speed up society that most people will not do it. However the Trump isn't really the problem, he is the outcome of much deeper systematic problems that usually aren't addressed. Especially since they are in play for so long that most people forgot how "normal" actually looks like (or they simply died of all age). Just by watching posts or videos here I see that most just don't know anymore what is "normal". Since all definitions are either blurred or defined as subjective. However until this is solved there will always be some new Trump that will come along down the road. Because mess tends to create strongmen.
Totally agree. This is why I support them getting addressed no matter how uncomfortable it makes some. Participatory democracy and an informed/educated populace isn't something up for negotiation. Because when you give opinion the same validity fact has, this is what you get.
