I wasn't sure where the right place to put this thread would be but I am wondering how much Ne and Fe I use as I am torn between ENTP and INTP. It seems I have traits of both. I am going for ENTP as it does seem I use more Ne than Ti at times and plus I seem to have a decent Fe as I am not oblvious to social cues. However on the other hand I could be INTP as I seem to have a good amount of Si. Apart from cognitive function tests is there any other way to tell if I use tert Fe/ inferior Si or tert Si/inferior Fe.

I also change depending on how confident I am. Naturally when I am confident I act very ENTP but when shy I act more like a INTP or a IXFJ.

Which of these resonates more with you?

- "Inferior Si will leak into consciousness in strange ways. Proper Si desires stability through utilizing personal knowledge to carefully sort through facts/details and is completely comfortable with seeing one’s reality as having clear structure, boundaries, and limitations. This can create an underlying sense of anxiety in Ne-doms because Ne fundamentally requires reality to have no boundaries or limits in order to maintain intuitive access to conceptual possibilities. Thus, when Ne becomes overextended, Ne-doms may exhibit somewhat desperate attempts to avoid acknowledging details and personal limitations so that they can feel continually connected to the world of possibility and defend against the restrictive and disciplined nature of Si. For example, they might: present themselves as “experts” and fool themselves into thinking that they have all the facts and details, exude a false air of competence through nitpicking or obsessing over little details, reprimand or mock other people for overlooking minor details, rationalize away past mistakes or dismiss the usefulness of past learning/knowledge, suddenly feel exhausted when confronted with too many loose ends to take care of, endlessly jump from one idea/task to another when too many difficulties crop up, take on too many tasks at once, be unwilling to admit that they have stretched themselves too far, refuse to follow rules, ignore/resent advice to slow down and do things more carefully, and so on."

- "Inferior Fe will leak into consciousness in strange ways. Proper Fe desires intimate connection with others and is completely comfortable with seeing one’s reality as largely structured by social influences and obligations. This can create an underlying sense of restlessness or guardedness in Ti-doms because Ti fundamentally requires the freedom to understand reality from an unbiased, individualist perspective. Thus, when Ti becomes overextended, Ti-doms may exhibit somewhat desperate attempts to push back against social structures/influences as a way to reinforce its own independence and defend against the demanding and consuming nature of Fe. For example, they might: blame others when their own emotions get out of control, resist committing to relationships and keep others at a safe emotional distance, reject any call to be responsible towards other people or society, rebuff any attempts to solicit empathy or sympathy, see any kind of emotional or social influence as corrosive and to be counteracted, try desperately to “correct” people who are deemed as “wrong” or “irrational” or “unintelligent”, start useless debates/arguments or unconsciously seek affirmation from people to ensure beliefs are “fact”, retreat from social life because they find it too overwhelming or unpredictable, develop overly simplistic “logical rules” for predicting or explaining human motivation and behavior, try to impress or provoke or influence people instead of connecting with them, be overconfident about their ability to read people, arrogantly attempt to excise any information that they deem “irrelevant” to the situation regardless of how it will affect others, inadvertently overlook or neglect important details related to other people’s feelings and expectations, and so on."

I relate more to the inferior Si example. This has been my down fall in my work. For example I get very overwhelmed and stressed when i have details and loose ends to take care of and i have been known to avoid difficult tasks. I also have a bipolar relationship with the past. I will get angry and upset when my family put videos of me as a child and i also get angry with others when they use past experience and yet i do under stress get stuck in the past and seek comfort via routines (watching cartoons i haven watched since i was a child when i am stressed or upset).

Firstly INxP, then xNTP, I can understand this doubt of yours ;)
Haven't you already read the dinamics of inferior Si and Fe? Typing using our flaws makes it easier.

The curse of Ne which sees possibilities everywhere my thought process is like I use Fi because x but Fe because x and can never settle down on one type. To be honest i can see me being any of the XNxP types as I am certainty a Ne dom/aux with tert/inferior Si and i lean towards Ti/Fe over Fi/Te.

Literally, that had been my biggest struggle with identifying with this and that. I can literally rationalize any function for myself it seems, objectively too! I never had any type biases or function idealizations for myself. I'm almost certain of my typing now but hot dang was it a struggle!

As for your thread question, I'll have to follow your posts some more to see. You're friendly for sure but someone stab me with a knife if that automatically makes you Fe driven.

Same here, One theory i have come up with is that i am a xNFP type who has repressed his Fi and expresses Te outwards as i do act Te sometimes (I can be bossy and pushy to get what i want or to get things done) as i feel the need to act "manly" and Te is the "man" function so to speak as when i was young i got made fun of for showing emotion by my friends. I consider myself a very logical person but I have heard a theory that F types (especially male Fs) can overemphasise their thinking functions.

OK so... I know this wasn't the discussion of your OP... But I'm super tempted to discuss this topic more. Brainstorm ensuing. I call this Hurricane Brain Dreamer :happy2:

You are funny you made me laugh. :happy2:. I am lucky i am derailing my own thread. ill start my brainstorm off.

Reasons why i am Fi/Te
. I have a deep understanding of others feelings and even though i think i use no Fi at all i do have personal morals i feel good about following.
. I relate to the Te bitch slap more than the Fe door slam (Both are things i have read about)
. I have a love of Te and i wish i could be a ExTJ type as i would get so much more done.
. I act tough on the outside but on the inside i am easily hurt and sensitive. (Could also be Fe not wanting to be seen as a crybaby).

Reasons for Ti/Fe
. I am very logical and analytical but at the same time love external harmony.
. I also have Fe temper tantrums (Also could be Te with Fi) if I feel i am being mistreated or ignored by others.
. I have a very expressive manner and my emotions are obvious (Even if i try i cannot stop myself laughing, smiling e.t.c and i would be as useful as a water color set in the desert when it comes to playing poker.

(I gotta go to bed now. Where i am it is 12 o clock and i have school in the morning and I "planned" to go to bed at 10 o clock. Ill read whatever has been posted here in the morning and answer back.

I just happened to stop by this thread, but here:

Fi/Te is very plain and pragmatic. Though it may be deep, that's all it really is. It's like fishing in a well, and once you find the bottom that's all you've really got. Pretty for the sake of being pretty, and literally immovable in its conviction.

Ti/Fe looks like Fi sometimes because it can actually hold a lot of conviction, and that's because of Ti - it's a system, ever expanding in its reach and understanding of the world. It uses Fe to get this understanding out there, and often when it does it's not very healthy. (Most often in Fe/Ti types over the opposite, since the system has trouble broadcasting over the wide range of Fe - Fe's more like a radio tower than anything, and Ti the words spoken and heard on the radio *nodnod*)...

Inf Fe is actually really cute. If you're particularly touchy, you probably have that as an inferior function over Si. If you get embarrassed when criticized or absolutely flip when there's too much conflict, you're that inf. Fe-dom can handle the drama because they see all the emotion at once in the room, and are probably part of it subconsciously. Hivemind to the extreme, yo. Like coasting on water, and not worrying if you'll drown because you learned to swim as a little tot. In contrast, a Ti-dom is someone who is thrashing and trying to tread nicely, but the water (Fe) pulls 'em down rather than helps them float. They're top heavy and can't mesh with the sea at all. However these types are actually more sensitive to emotion because they really are swimming, and can see the sea from an outside perspective (Ti) and can see danger before it comes. Fe-doms are like mermaids and wouldn't know a shark from a minnow because water is their natural habitat - aka they'd die pretty quickly. It's just that the Fe-infs are really bad at navigating the water still, so they don't do anything but sit there. Ti-Fe together is like trying to shoot the air and expecting it to shatter, Fe-Ti is shooting the air but shattering yourself by mistake.

Don't know if that made any sense.

Also, inf Fe types cheer up people more than the supposedly ever cheery FJ types, because while they are afraid of their feelings, they certainly don't want other people to notice, because then everyone would be afraid, and then what could occur? Yikes o_O

Random shit from personality cafe:
Ti/Fe creates it's morals based on subjective rationality. It plays God and decides what is right and wrong. It will act differently from it's own code if the situation involving other people demands it.

when Ti > Fe
a person will forsake ethical balance in favor of personal moral code
healthy- will not be so easily influenced by people who are whining (righteous, acts for greater good)

Reddit @ -- Serock3:
From what I gathered it is because INTPs want to have a completely logically driven moral code, one that is disconnected from their own views and values. If morality is a thing there must be an underlying truth behind it, to find that we have to scrap away our own perspective and find moral rules that work everywhere, for everyone. Instead of saying "Murder is wrong because that's just obvious, I can feel it.", you figure out the reason behind why that's the case. When you create a impersonal moral system like that it's easier to notice when you yourself are in the wrong.

And this???
TJs tend to criticize TPs’ for their informal methods and lack of “hard evidence.” FPs, as well as some TJs, may protest against what they see as Ti-Fe attempts to “pigeonhole” them in human classification systems like typology. FJs tend to have more of a love-hate relationship with Ti. They may struggle with what they see as TPs’ intractible skepticism

My suggestion is ask yourself, when I get angry, what do I get angry about? How? Why, though? How does that tantrum manifest? Is it that I am personally offended, or that I am offended for a moral reason? Why does this offend me? That kinda thing, see.

I would say in terms of the Fe sea I am more like a seal, I can navigate it well but ultimately i do need breaks from Fe now and again. When i get angry i mostly get angry about people being fussy with details (Spelling, grammar, I focus more on the content than the details of a piece of work so i do hate it when people are pedantic and make fusses over details when in a forest a few crooked trees wont make much difference) and i also get angry if i see myself or someone i care about getting mistreated by others. When i am mistreated by others i will act tough and aggressive :2up: but deep down i am very upset and if i can run away alone ill be like . On the other hand seeing those i care about getting mistreated will really make me angry and i will shout and scream insults at the bully in question. I get offended personally more than for moral reasons and I get offended as this disrupts my external harmony. The tantrum manifests with me pouring all my anger and annoyance out.

I'm pretty sure whether you are Ne dominant can't be to hard to figure out. ENFPs and ENTPs don't always seem that extroverted, but the silliness is hard to miss.

Some questions: Are you more likely to smile when something goes wrong or be annoyed at the lack of success? Do you admire the irony and insanity in disorder and anarchy, or do you need something more solid? Do you need to solve contradictions to feel at peace or can you hedge your bets and say one might be right or the other might be. Do you like solving problems with some space from others or do discussions get your mind racing with new thoughts and in a way inspire you?

I do have that silliness that most INxP seem to lack. If something goes wrong i get really annoyed at the lack of success and there is nothing funny about failure (Unless it is happening to someone i hate :)). I would hate to live under anarchy and need some semblance of solidity and structure in my life but i can see the humor and irony though. I dont feel a great need to solve contradictions and i can see all sides of a issue. When it comes to problem solving i prefer to problem solve outwards discussing it with others.

You are probably an INXP based on that.

Just to give you a better idea with the feeling part, introverted feelers can present differently online because for some reason we express differently in writing.

For reference regarding the extroverts, this is one of the better representations of ENFPs I could find online. We generally are friendly and excited about topics in a bit of a nerdy way, but aren't really an extroverted blitz like the ESFPs or social butterflies like the ENFJs. The bursts of sort of inspiredness where we get onto a topic we are interested in, and sometimes the complete boredom with small talk can be give aways. Although, you learn to hide the boredom a bit or figure out ways to make it interesting. ENFPs also tend to use their introverted feeling quite weirdly. Life is basically a big search to see everything, how it is connected, and why it is important. What she says in the video about actually testing everything to get a guage on it, was the same for me. I generally take others opinions as ideas to test, but they don't really get integrated into my understanding of things without making sure that they are right.

INFPs are strangely a different creature. Far more introverted in some ways but more organised and outgoing in others. They tend to be good at dark humour (at least the ones I've met).

ENTPs are similar in lots of ways to ENFPs but with a different edge. Maybe a bit more of a confidence and logicalness about them. Both types do the silliness thing, but ENTPs really script it well.

Obviously, there are extreme extroverts in all E types, but ENPs have so much to consider in the world that it is hard to just be outgoing without stopping to think and reflect, hence the slightly introverted feel.

My general tone is very similar to the ENTP example below with very similar mannerisms, facial expression and general patterns of behaviour. What makes you think i am more INxP than ENxP. I guess the chaos question is testing for a higher Si, my general attitude towards chaos and disorder is that it is hilarious and funny as long as i am observing it not living in it. . By the way is it possible for a INxP type to have poorly developed Si as i think i do with my lack of attention to detail.

Yeah, I generally find ENXPs to almost subversively like things decending into chaos because it makes it more interesting. At the same time ENTPs might like a bit more logical order than ENFPs and care a bit more about having failed. ENTP could fit what you wrote above.

I suppose i could be ambiverted between ENTP and INTP. On the one hand i am too energetic and pushy to be INTP but on the other hand i am too routine orientated and timid to be ENTP.

That sounds INTP to me, @ Brain in a Jar. But for reference, here's an ENTP or two to help you distinguish:

ENTP MatPat
ENTP Green bro

It's to find INxs, 'specially INTPs. But let's see if I can find one, eh?

INTP Kpop guy (the one called Hojoon is INTP, I'm pretty sure. INTPs are recluses so they're hard to find irl. In contrast, Sangdo is ISFx ;})
