Why should Suicide Squad be an improvement over Batman Vs. Superman?

You don't want 2 mediocre films coming out of your studios ahead of Wonder Woman and the Justice League films. You want to build excitement and momentum. Iron Man and Captain America did that for the Avengers. These 2 DC films just weren't all that exciting. Instead of Bats vs Supes, they should've given us Darkseid vs Supes.

Finished Stranger Things season 1. Amazeballz!

Also finally finished watching the indie horror flick Creep. No gore, scary AF and just down my alley.

Went and saw 'Don't Breathe'

And it was pretty good but... Spoilers.

First of all, it took place in Michigan... A fact that seemed to attempt to stand on its own as meaning that the main characters life was a living hell. Yes. Detroit is awful. No, it is not a place I personally want to go and live, and no- I would not want to be alone at night in the deepest parts of it. But I wouldnt want to be alone at night in MOST major cities. Yes, Detroit is worse than most... But- seriously, its a bit irritating for it to ALWAYS be scapegoated as just this super evil place. And the movie almost went as far as to attempt to degrade the ENTIRE state of michigan.

No. Nuh uh. Thats not cool with me. Outside of like the inner city of Detroit and a few of the very nearby outerlying areas- Michigan is as safe as anywhere else. As non-shitty as anywhere else.

So. Yeah. And also, I hated the main character. The girl. Fucking annoying. It was like- nah no- lets continue on in this fucking mad house being chased by a guy with a gun who has already shot two people dead in front of us- I mean, we still want that money- right? Our odds of making it out of the house... Well I would say they are pretty good considering hes boarded up all the windows/exits- hes got a gun and we are unarmed- hes obviously not going to show us any mercy considering hes already killed one of us--- hes not concerned really with morality considering hes kidnapped a girl to 'breed' with- and sees no issue with it. Oh. And his giant dog. Well. I say lets just continue on because fuck man- I HAVE to get to California- so, yeah, thanks for coming back and sacrificing your life for me friend. Now go right ahead and do it. Because I am really much too innocent to go to jail- and dont deserve it anyways- my multiple robberies of innocent people is entirely justified.

She was fucking irritating. Its like... Dude. You are going to die here. You are THIS close. You are lucky that you are still breathing NOW. You cannot afford to take any risks- you HAVE to get out of there ASAP- call the fucking POLICE. Beggers cannot be choosers at this point.

And then the ending was like wtf. The police were treating the guy as a complete victim- completely justified in killing the two teenaged intruders in his home- nothing suspicious there.

Oh the fact that there was blood EVERYWHERE? EVERYWHERE!!!! I mean, can overlook that. Guy was just doing what he had to do. The fact that he dragged their dead bodies all over the house- had time to do that but couldnt call 911- considering that they obviously were both bleeding out for quite a while- because again- blood is in many many parts of the house. The face that the one guy was shot in the head- at fucking close range- and then- hours later his body was stabbed with garden shears. I mean, thats what you do with all dead bodies- have to poke them to make sure they arent still moving. And garden shears just happened to be on hand to this guy in his bathroom. Yep.

Oh and even better. That the dude has a fucking dungeon in his basement. Along with laboratory equiptment that includes copious samples of his semen. The fact that he had a girl held hostage in said dungeon- a fort that is surrounded with pillows so she cant hurt his fetus that he forced into her- but not by rape- because well... Hes NO rapist. He uses turkey bastors. Because thats soo much better.

The fact that the girl he kidnapped, impregnated, and then shot- is the SAME girl who ran over and killed his daughter... No alarm bells ringing there. The fact that her blood, sweat, and tears are permenantly trapped in the cloth fibers of those pillows- EVERYWHERE... Yeah. No. Ignore that. Everyone has a blood and semen stained dungeon enclosure of pillows and chains in their basement. Wouldnt take a second look there.

Local man heroically defends himself against stupid young teenagers- falls tragically but will recover- free to kidnap another woman, the shitty city of detroit will even offer him one up- because I mean, why the hell not- everything else here is corrupt, obviously the police are too.

Just. Lol. The movie was good but the plot holes are so big the three of them could have bulldozed through them, taken the money in the first 5 minutes- and have been surfing away in paradise while spending the rest of their time continuing to rob the absolute most pathetic people they could find.

A fucking DUNGEON. What.

Anyways, the movie was entertaining though. Really tense ride. Nice. Kinda cloverfield lane feeling to me actually.

I think it's actually one of my favorite shows ever, at first I thought the 80's thing was going to be overdone, but it wasn't! They did an amazing job filming. It had a very movie-like quality to it. Only 8 episodes though.

Season 2 next year.

Hunger Games: Mockingjay part 2. Didn't do anything for me. The Divergent series is better.

Also, they kind of blew it on the ending, imho:

They should've had Katniss kill both Snow and Coin. It was a huge letdown when they didn't show Snow's death.

Just completed Season 1 of Happy Valley. What a gripping show, stellar performance from Sarah Lancashire!

Possibly one of the best animated films I've ever seen in my life. Kimi no Na wa is an easy 10/10 from me.

10 Cloverfield Lane: lots of sensor bias and abuse in this one, but the acting is good.

Just began watching this after so many years of not knowing it existed after buying it's dvd.. apparently it only made one season and got cancelled.

Kubo and the Two Strings was pleasantly good.

Sully was alright.

On Season 3 of Luther right now and I'm so hooked.

I went to see Julieta yesterday and I must say it was a very nice surprise. After last two movies, I doubted Almodovar will make good films again.

What I like the most is that he came back to women. I would say he understands women well but its something different as combination of understanding and fascination. I enjoyed more first part, more symbolic and filled with vivid female character. The other part with older Julieta seemed bland, but I guess it was a way to show what guilt and lost is doing with people.

It took me some time of ‘huh like I’ve seen this before’ to realize he based this on Munro short stories. That’s interesting because they speak differently, in different colors if I may say so

The series premiere of The Exorcist. Wow, Geena Davis got old but it's nice seeing her again. I already like this more than AHS.

I watched two episodes of This Is Us and thought it was great. Looking forward to more of that.

The INTP and I saw two episodes of The Good Place. He didn't love it, but liked it a lot. It was pretty good, imo. The show is very light, but didn't make me laugh.

The INTP also liked Son of Zorn, but not as much as The Good Place. It felt like a heavier, darker comedy to me and a little slow.

I didn't make it through the entire episode. It was a little dull starting out, imo. Does it get better towards the end of the episode? .....It was nice seeing Geena Davis again. She's like 60 or something. Looks pretty good for her age. I didn't see that she messed up her face with major surgery.

First season of AHS was mostly a drag, imo. The other seasons were good, although some episodes are sickening. The point of the whole Freakshow season was to make me nauseous and it did.

I didn't make it that far. I'll have to check it out again soon. I love that they've made the Excorist into a tv show.
