Hello everyone, it's my first post here at typology central. I've created this account because I've got burning questions to ask about all of your opinions on my MBTI! So I've filled in a questionnaire. I would appreciate all of your thoughts on this!

1) What aspect of your personality made you unsure of your type?
I value logic over feelings when making a decision and I find it difficult to communicate my emotions because I think it's awkward to talk about myself. However, I would still like to talk about it sometimes. I also enjoy being engaged in intellectual discussions. However, sometimes I would be touched by emotional appeals and am someone who is considerate about other's feelings unless I feel really terrible that day. I also like to be sentimental about things and especially like to read about tragic stories because it would tug at my 'heartstrings' and be sad, and I do like to feel sad.

2) What do you yearn for in life? Why?
I yearn for a relaxed life. I've been stressed with so much work these days that I feel like I don't have time for relaxation. And I feel worried all the time because I think I wouldn't have any job in the future (I'm still a student) because I think I'm incompetent so I worry constantly, hence just want to live a relaxed life free of worries.

3) Think about a time where you felt like you were at your finest. Tell us what made you feel that way.
I can't really think of anything...

4) What makes you feel inferior?
When I'm unable to keep up with an intellectual discussion with my friends because I don't understand what they are talking about.

5) What tends to weigh on your decisions? (Do you think about people, pro-cons, how you feel about it, etc.)
I think about the pros and cons of each decision and how it will affect anyone involved.

6) When working on a project what is normally your emphasis? Do you like to have control of the outcome?
When working on a project, I would try to get the project done in the shortest and most effective way and as a added bonus. I would like to have control of the outcome because I don't really trust others to complete it perfectly.

7) Describe us a time where you had a lot of fun. How is your memory of it?
A time where I had a lot of fun was when I was filming a video with my friends where we made a parody of a popular movie. Even though we had to refilm it many times, that was the fun part as my friends kept making different interesting suggestions as to how it should be acted out and the end result was especially funny since we added our own touch the to plot in the movie.

8) When you want to learn something new, what feels more natural for you? (Are you more prone to be hands on, to theorize, to memorize, etc)
I'm really bad at memorising facts, so I would prefer to have a hands-on experience so it would be better ingrained in my memory.

9) How organized do you to think of yourself as?
I think I'm not a very organized person as my room is very messy. However, I do feel annoyed when I see the messiness, just that I am too lazy to organize them... When I do organize them, however, I would feel a sense of fufilledness.

10) How do you judge new ideas? You try to understand the principles behind it to see if they make sense or do you look for information that supports it?
I judge new ideas by looking for information that supports it.

11) You find harmony by making sure everyone is doing fine and belonging to a given group or by making sure that you follow what you believe and being yourself?
I find harmony by making sure I follow what I believe and am being myself, but it would be an added bonus if everyone is doing fine.

12) Are you the kind that thinks before speaking or do you speak before thinking? Do you prefer one-on-one communication or group discussions?
I think before speaking especially when I'm with unfamiliar people but with my friends, I would be more confident about voicing my thoughts. I prefer one-on-one communication.

13) Do you jump into action right away or do you like to know where are you jumping before leaping? Does action speaks more than words?
I would like to know where I am jumping before leaping. Action speaks more than words as I think words are just things that will not manifest into actual actions, instead, they are used just a way to shirk from responsibility.

14) It's Saturday. You're at home, and your favorite show is about to start. Your friends call you for a night out. What will you do?
I will reject the friend nicely by explaining that I have other things to do, then promise that I would accompany him/her next time.

15) How do you act when you're stressed out?
When I'm stressed out, I would keep all my thoughts to myself and become increasingly frustrated at the messiness of my room and might become angry. But after thinking about the issue, I would realise that it is pointless to be angry as nothing can be accomplished, and will calm down and try to continue with my work after some 'slacking'.

16) What makes you dislike the personalities of some people?
What makes me dislike the personalities of some people is that they are irresponsible. I cannot stand it when people cannot be responsible for themselves and in the end implicate others. I also dislike others who slam my ideas when I discuss abstract ideas and about the future as some people would just say "we don't need to care about the future because we should just be living in this moment".

17) Is there anything you really like talking about with other people?
I really like talking with other people about abstract ideas, such as the meaning of life and like to speculate about various things, such as whether there is an afterlife and maybe we are living in our second life already, just that we have no recollections of our previous life.

18) What kind of things do pay the least attention to in your life
I do not pay attention to small details such as the colour of other's hair unless they are really striking, whether they have glasses or not or if they have long hair or short hair. This has come to my attention as when I think about my teachers, I still don't know who has glasses and who doesn't and who has short or long hair.

19) How do your friends perceive you? What is wrong about their perception? ? What would your friends never say about your personality ?
My friends perceive me as a cold person that does not care about others feelings. Their perception is wrong because I actually care about others a lot, just that I don't necessarily show it because I just do not feel the inclination to do so. I am the type of person who would care for someone in the background, which goes undetected all the time. And unfortunately, my friends would never say that I am a nice person because they perceive me as an evil person because of some jokes that I have made that I meant no harmful intent about. (I am a person who likes to joke a lot and this leads to lots of misunderstandings) One example is when my class decided to set up an encouragement board for everyone in the class to post their worries and for the others to write their encouragements, so I just joked that I would reply "You suck" to their worries. However, my friends took it seriously and "scolded" me that I was mean.

20) You got a whole day to do whatever you like. What kind of activities do you feel like doing?
I would like to stay at home with the aircon on and listen to some songs and read through some forums and blogs that I follow (including this forum). Then, I would like to watch some dramas and eat some instant noodles. And towards the end of the day, I would like to listen to some sad songs and reflect about my life :)

So that's my answers to the questionnaire, I'll just add some additional information:
- My Enneagram is 5w4, which describes me very well, and my socionics is LII, even though I haven't read much about it to judge if it describes me.
- I'm also someone who thinks too much, like there was once I went to the toilet and when I came out, my mom had disappeared. So I just started to have thoughts that she had abandoned me and my brain started to think and piece together bits of information as to how the plan happened. But later I found my mom, apparently she had been trying to look for me too and we just missed each other. However, I'm still suspicious until now... (Because I don't think I'm exactly a very likable person so I wouldn't be surprised if my family wanted to abandon me)
- My favourite kind of quotes are from INFJs and INFPs and they mostly describe me, such as the mbti 'squad' things on tumblr. And I mostly relate to the INFJ and INFP posts. However, I have considered INTP too. Some of the aspects of the INTP personality describe me, such as being open-minded, objective and I frequently second-guess myself, but I wouldn't see myself as that smart and analytical. I have an XNTP friend who gets very excited when she talks about things, but I'm never that excited as her.

Thanks for reading and I really appreciate all of your inputs.

Thank you for your quick reply! I've read the INTP description and I think it suits me pretty well. However, what confuses me is that I don't really relate to some things about INTP that I find on the internet. I'm not too sure if it is just stereotypes, I'll give an example. I follow an mbti blog and they will post some things about mbti. But I don't really relate to things such as one that they posted on the 99 problems of MBTI. INTP says: "I've got 99 problems. 32 of those problems have to do with 67 of my problems making no logical sense." I don't really think I would say this kind of things, but instead I would say something like what INFP says "I've got 99 problems that will go away some day..." of maybe like ISTP "I've got 99 problems... *looks at the moon, cape flows in the wind*" and another example on MBTI squads and storm. INTP would say "Storm happens because of the coexistence of two or more air masses of different temperatrues and that's cool". However, I personally don't know about this fact (INTPs are shown to be very knowledgable and know almost everything) and I would respond more like INFP, INFJ, ENFP, ENFJ "OMG so melancholic (think about their life while watching)"
One part that makes me confused about T and F is that I take care of other people's feelings and I am mostly aware when I insult someone, though sometimes I do it on purpose when I am angry, because I know that they'll feel insulted (I guess this is mean)
Oh yes, and I forgot to include that I have self-diagnosed dysthymia, where someone has a persistent depressed mood that is not as severe as depression. And I read that being depressed might make your inferior functions surface? Thanks for helping! Would appreciate everyones help!

I think INFP. A lot of what you've described is Fi with intuition, & something that hinted at inferior Te was:

When I'm unable to keep up with an intellectual discussion with my friends because I don't understand what they are talking about.

I don't see how this hints inferior Te. INTPs struggle in 'fast paced' conversation because they typically need more time to think things through. This is how dominant Ti works, it needs time to sort out the nitty gritty details into a logically coherent system. Nearly every Ti dom I talk to finds it frustrating/annoying to keep up with my fast paced Ne but once they 'get it' or have assimilated it they become very knowledgeable on the subject(s).

I wouldn't really read too much into generalizations. A lot of stereotypes like to exaggerate. And the reason why you're aware of other people's feelings is because INTP's do have Fe. Some people's functions are more developed than others. My dad is an ENFP, and you'd think he's a T because he has a developed Te. Anyways, I think it depends where you are in your life. At this stage right now in your life, your inferior function may be through the roof due to certain factors, which could help you understand why even though you have Ti, you feel though you're an F.

6) When working on a project what is normally your emphasis? Do you like to have control of the outcome?
When working on a project, I would try to get the project done in the shortest and most effective way and as a added bonus. I would like to have control of the outcome because I don't really trust others to complete it perfectly.

Ti I think.

4) What makes you feel inferior?
When I'm unable to keep up with an intellectual discussion with my friends because I don't understand what they are talking about.

I'd even say Ti for this one because of the lack of internal competence. Te would actually thrive off the discussion of others because that's how it starts up their train of thought, I believe.

5) What tends to weigh on your decisions? (Do you think about people, pro-cons, how you feel about it, etc.)
I think about the pros and cons of each decision and how it will affect anyone involved.

This is Ti-Fe.

10) How do you judge new ideas? You try to understand the principles behind it to see if they make sense or do you look for information that supports it?
I judge new ideas by looking for information that supports it.

Ti-Ne

9) How organized do you to think of yourself as?
I think I'm not a very organized person as my room is very messy. However, I do feel annoyed when I see the messiness, just that I am too lazy to organize them... When I do organize them, however, I would feel a sense of fufilledness.

Lacking Te.

I could see where he comes off as INFP, some of it does sound like Fi in a way but I really just think he has developed Fe. I don't see Fi, I see a lot of Fe with Ti. I don't really see Te either.

INTP, you've got inferior Fe and dom Ti. I see aux Ne in your jokes and need to ponder(hehe, INTP can stand for I Need To Ponder).

A lot of what Cold wrote comes off as Fi, so I figured the statement about feeling incompetent would hint at inferior Te (manifesting as being sensitive to incompetence). However you bring up a good point about dominant Ti, I didn't take it into account. I also missed the post about dysthymia which could affect the typing.

However, I still am curious why I sometimes relate to INFJ things more? Is it because of the Ti and Fe? One example is this picture here:

Is this just a generalisation of Introverted types and not really specific to INFJs? Thanks!

PS: I'm not a 'he', sorry for any confusion caused xD

INTP and INFJ are actually pretty common mistypes, the picture is a generalization of introverted types.

Hello everyone, it's my first post here at typology central. I've created this account because I've got burning questions to ask about all of your opinions on my MBTI! So I've filled in a questionnaire. I would appreciate all of your thoughts on this!

1) What aspect of your personality made you unsure of your type?
It's really cool you asked this question. It makes me feel you're a type who asks questions, like myself.
Well, for me, the question is organizing or free-flowing attitude. It's between ENTJ/ENTP.

2) What do you yearn for in life? Why?
I have many wishes. I'm able and willing to push hard for some and I have done so.
Sometimes I relax for few months.

3) Think about a time where you felt like you were at your finest. Tell us what made you feel that way.
I was the top guy to push my views on program development. It happened, made the customer happy, was exciting to me, everyone. I liked it.

4) What makes you feel inferior?
at times I dont earn much anything. What do I have to prove I've done any good?

5) What tends to weigh on your decisions? (Do you think about people, pro-cons, how you feel about it, etc.)
I take the engineer's approach. Seeing how a project will turn out, I evaluate everything. I evaluate how any behaviour or choice would make a difference in the big picture. Then I calculate.

If it's bigger than a project, then I take a personal / religious / philosophical / humanistic approach. I seek guidance from all the approaches.

6) When working on a project what is normally your emphasis? Do you like to have control of the outcome?
The best projects I've worked on have been such where I have had direct control of the outcome. I desire for that.

7) Describe us a time where you had a lot of fun. How is your memory of it?
I was living in a neighborhood with few restrictions and many possibilities. I used many of the waking hours with my friends or with their families. It was a lot of fun.
8) When you want to learn something new, what feels more natural for you? (Are you more prone to be hands on, to theorize, to memorize, etc)
I like to have good theory on it and then try it hands on.

Inner feelings. Ti, Fi run strong in you.

Not a very extroverted approach you have there.

So the big thing first, that sounded majorly more N than S. And pretty introverted. So Fi/Ti first, I'd place my bet on Fi.
Ne second.
So I'd say INFJ.

You seem INTP, there is some Fe in your posts but you definitely strike me a T-type, and I know INTPs who can be quite mushy with sentimental things.

enfp I think.

I think it's pretty clear you're fi/te. The part about feeling bad when not keeping up is more Fi than anything. A thinking type wouldn't think bad about it they'd be excited to have the chance to learn new things. Usually it's the Fi user that feels something like that in this scenario. I think Ne is stronger in you than Fi. I sense weak Te in your post, I wouldn't be surprised if it was rooted in experiencing the grip of the inferior functions. Also sense inferior Si. Worrying about the future and getting a job, being able to keep up with the pressure. Typical problems for enfps.
