Yeah, it's all too confusing for me :/
They should describe the functions the same way.

MBTI has a terrible understanding of its Sensory Introverts so no profile really fits and any descriptions you might read to find a fit are too simplistic. I would simply ignore MBTI unless you are Intuitive.
However, SEI can be written up in a rich, descriptive profile: World Socionics: SEI - Sensory Ethical Integrator
That explains a lot really. I feel like I'm somewhere between MBTI ISFP and ISFJ; some sort of limbo.
This is perfectly ok imo, just be who you are. If it takes too much work to figure out what mbti type you are, maybe it's not of much value to you. Plus it's not a science, I think there are all kinds of in-betweens.
Re socionics, when I looked into it a few years ago, it definitely didn't match up with mbti in terms of profiles. A socionics ISFp was/is descriptively very much a combo of mbti isfj and isfp descriptions. Not really the same systems at all.

Yeah, most socionics descriptions seem to be hybrids of both mbti types.Socionics INTp-ILI descriptions read like a hybrid of MBTI INTP and INTJ.
"Furthermore, SEIs will usually disdain people who set themselves up as experts and presume to know what is best for them, especially in regards to their comfort and well-being. This can often result in stubbornness on the part of the SEI and the attitude that their personal experience trumps statistical studies and academic expertise, which might frustrate doctors."MBTI has a terrible understanding of its Sensory Introverts so no profile really fits and any descriptions you might read to find a fit are too simplistic. It hurts how much that whole article sums up my life.
I think they switch the J and the P since ISFjs are lead judgers (Fi) and ISFps are lead perceivers (Si). In mbti they go by if you're judging/perceiving function is extroverted.
