WW2 Generals Test

ww2-generals

Multiple Results

You have two or more equally prominent World War 2 general matches. It is possible that you are an equal fit for all of those generals. On the other hand, it is also possible that you simply answered the questions in such a way that you ended up with tied results, even though, in reality, you do have a definite WW2 general match. Whether you really are an equal fit for all of these generals or you just happened to get an equal score on all of them, we are unable to say; we are therefore also unable to give you a more personalized description. But you can consult the chart above to see which of the characters you scored the strongest on.

I had a dog named Rommel before.

Erwin Rommel
Bold and courageous, Rommel was known for leading his troops from the front instead of from the rear, as most other generals would do. He once described his style of warfare as “the art of concentrating his strength at one point to force a breakthrough, then penetrating like lightning before the enemy has had time to react,” and indeed, he quickly grew famous for his propensity for daring surprise attacks. Self-reliant and independent, Rommel did not always keep the operational plans of his superiors in mind when executing his campaigns. Favoring speed and agility, with the aim of keeping his enemies off-balance, Rommel turned the defensive command he was given in Africa into an all-out offensive operation, using speed and shock to turn what was supposed to have been a glacier wall into a roaring avalanche. His agility and boldness meant that he would sometimes overextend himself, but also allowed him to exploit tactical opportunities to crush enemy generals who relied on positional warfare at every turn.

Your closest match was Manstein.

Erich von Manstein
Shrewd, sly, and discerning, Manstein had a cunning mind and chess-like eye for strategy, which allowed him to capitalize on flanking, diversions, and counterattacks. More akin to Loki than to Thor, Manstein’s ability to trick his opponents enabled him to crush superior enemies while being outnumbered and outgunned on more than one occasion. His adaptability and sharp mind allowed him to think a number of moves ahead of the enemy and make the most of combined arms doctrines and coordinated attacks on several fronts at once. The brain behind several of Germany’s more unorthodox operational plans, the consensus among historians is that Manstein was not merely a great general, but in fact a military genius. With much arrogance and pride in his own judgment, Manstein’s confidence in his own plans rarely wavered. He felt sure he was outwitting and outmaneuvering the enemy at every turn – and very often, he was.

Calm, compassionate, and likable, Eisenhower made a name for himself as a WWII general, not because of his combat experience, but because of his political acumen. Rather than with bullets and blasts on the battlefield, Eisenhower’s greatness emerged when he started dedicating himself to the politics of war. Diplomacy, understanding, and a keen mind for how cantankerous generations could be made to cooperate became Eisenhower’s secret weapon and his most prominent military strategy. With his emotional intelligence and critical thinking skills, Eisenhower was able to inspire cooperation among even the most unlikely of teammates and obtain mutual agreement where before there had only been conflict. When faced with failure, he would immediately begin developing plans to promote different outcomes in the future, always highlighting the strengths of his men the contributions of everyone involved.

I really like these results. Also now everyone knows I hate turtling in games

Patton favored strategies that were aggressive, fast-paced, and offensive. An energetic hands-on commander, he was a man of action who preferred to act immediately rather than risk letting an opportunity slip by.
Impetuous on the battlefield and driven to win, Patton eschewed static defenses as “monuments to man’s stupidity” and strove for constant forward momentum in the operations he commanded. A man’s man and a soldier’s general, Patton was able to inspire, persuade, and motivate troops with his enthusiastic (and often profane) speeches, succeeding in eliciting marches and attacks from his men that others thought impossible. Patton’s preference for attack meant that he could become impatient with those who were not willing to seize every opportunity to smash open enemy lines, stating that they would have time to rest when the war was over.

Shrewd, sly, and discerning, Manstein had a cunning mind and chess-like eye for strategy, which allowed him to capitalize on flanking, diversions, and counterattacks.

I didn't save the graphic, but I got Rommel and Eisenhower equally. There may have been a third guy there (Manstein or Zhukov, I think?) who had a non-negligible perecentage. But they couldn't really settle on one for me.
