How to be a good propagandist
We can be a good propagandist by following three rules -
1. We remember propaganda is neither true nor false, rather plausible or implausible.
2. We remember to never believe our own propaganda.
3. We remember the meaning of our propaganda is its response.
No, on several counts. Propaganda is simply the deliberate spreading of (dis)information to manipulate. It differs from true persuasion in not requiring any semblance of logic or factual correctness. Its modern usage is almost exclusively negative. If one is describing the spreading of information in a positive or even neutral sense, one should use a different expression. Uncritical acceptance of the Bible is Americans' most widespread and unfortunate belief. Finally, Death of a Salesman is awful. Miller should have stuck to writing about witches.
