Why do people like rock music?

Rock is such a broad genre that I am skeptical when someone says they don't like any of it. There's thousands of songs, thousands of artists, many, many different styles. The same could be said about other 'broad' genres like classical, jazz, country, etc.

Not everyone listens to Justin Bieber shit.
