As far as an evening goes.. well.. just talking. Connecting. We could be doing anything else along with it. Or just talking. Till sunrise, til we pass out, stretched out on the floor/balled up uncomfortably on a couch together. On opposite ends, not even needing to touch.

An evening - A pizza (homemade of course), a movie (preferably comedy) then wild rampant sex (if no sex, then talking will do until we both fall sleep).

for me: being given a single red rose out of the blue. It means that he thought of me while he was out and about in the world
for him: Giving him a massage after a tough day after cooking his favorite meal to help him relax.

romantic evening:

We sometimes put our bed in the living room in front of the tv, for an entire sunday, and do nothing but watch movies, snuggle, make love and eat in the bed. Utter bliss...

Alternatively, we often go out to the movies with a romantic dinner beforehand. I know it's cliche, but the only way to get him ranting and talking is to get him somewhere where he can relax, be spoiled and have nothing else distracting him. It is the best way to have an intimate talk without being distracted by household chores, daily life and what not. Then afterwards, we can snuggle up in the movie theatre
