Very cool but cannot relate.![]()
Oh.are you more of the true 7 NP who just picks up anything and is good at it?
You seem like you put a lot of time and interest into your hobbies even if they are full of variety. My excitement has a time limit and I'll usually get bored before making an ongoing project of it. But yeah I'm usually good at most things I do.![]()
So I thought about it and I might be slightly depressed, at least when thinking of the 7 type. So basically, especially being of the Sx variety, we're non-committal as fuck. At first I thought this might have something to do with maturity. In my 20s (I'm early 30s now)I bounced around through out several workplaces ( even with the benefit of 6 years of military experience) and I couldn't hold on to a relationship to save my life (mostly because I didn't want to after some point). Maybe getting a little older helped me stabilize as far as working goes and I'm willing to give committed relationships a real shot but I always end up unsatisfied and/or disinterested at some point. This is more true in relationships than work since my career is very satisfying full of possibilities. It's usually not the other person's fault. They are actually the same as when I met them ( when I perceived it as more exciting) but once the relationship is settled in then the luminosity of it tends to dim. It fucking sucks because I'm usually thinking "Oh crap, I'm starting to get disinterested AGAIN!" Then it sucks when I want to talk to a partner about it because they begin to feel shitty and lose confidence in themselves because I'm not excited about the relationship anymore and it usually spirals into disintegration from that point. Are 7s doomed to just never be really satisfied, enough to want to settle?
Well if anything, I'm one of the most bored people you'll ever meet. Like I'll do fun stuff with you, but I'll get bored of anything real quick maybe it's because of depression. But I've been bored since high school and things only give me little pleasure. But I hide my feelings of sadness pretty well, well... Until you see me on webcam like GarrotTheThief did one time. :c
"I'm bored" is probably what I've said most in my life.
Yeah, yeah. I've been with more people than I have fingers on my hand in the last year.
I see! Well thank you Mr. ZNP. I feel like I have ADD sometimes but yeah finishing can be tough when there's just so many other things out there making sure I take advantage of the right possibility at the right time. I'm sure it can be very tough for you guys because it's probably accented for you further with Ne.![]()

I'm still trying to figure out my enneagram and tritype so my experience has little meaning at this point, but i wouldn't confuse 7 with boredom. That's what it may appear on the surface, but for me, the "7" comes through in a deep fear of facing my harsh realities and history. What have I learned over the years of how to cope with that? Run. Literally and figuratively lol. So I'm out consuming all this mental distraction so that I can live in the moment and for a brief time, forget my problems and leave them behind me. Most likely why ENFPs and ENTPs for that matter, associate with 7, is because they have Ne as their dominant function, so they are already adept at playing with the world around them and feeding this insatiable appetite for knowledge the world contains. So, boredom may be one factor, but I feel it's really just a part of it. There is definitely something deeper beneath the surface that makes 7s so hyperactive in trying new things.

Even I am afraid of dating a bit because of the commitment aspect until I know she fits me like a glove haha. But good for you! It's always fun brainstorming and formulating a new idea or perspective but it's less fun once you have to put it to practical use and have worry about the realistic boundaries. I like to keep things open ended always allowing for more future input though this can be a crippling conceit sometimes. I think E7 is enneagram's version of Ne (and Se to a slightly lesser extent) but definitely right up the ally of dominant extroverted perceivers. There are far too many similarities between a 7 and ExxP to ignore when described by both typologies. Long term commitment has always been one of my weaknesses but at least I'm not in denial about it anymore.![]()
Yeah big differences between ESFP and ENTP 7s ( though if they are the same enneatype I could see more similarities). For one ESFPs are much more focused on present reality than ENTPs. We suffer from being scatter-brained and useless abstraction while ESFPs seem more direct and to the point. I think ESFPs crave new experiences more than new ideas which is opposite for the ENTP.
I think both suffer with establishing long term commitments though. I dated an ESFP 7 a few years ago (amazingly it lasted almost 2 years) but we just as quickly became strangers as we became enamored with one and other.
I budget out a little each month to try new things, but its never enough.I'm still trying to figure out my enneagram and tritype so my experience has little meaning at this point, but i wouldn't confuse 7 with boredom.
