So one of the major things on the list of things to do is to install the new kitchen and dining room floor. First we had to fill in the floor where the vinyl floor was cut out because of the water damage in the kitchen. So my 19 year old ISTP son and I used a "self-leveling" product today that needs to be troweled into the space that needs to be made level with the rest of the floor.
We learned a couple of important things...
1 - don't mix with warm water. That will turn it almost rock hard almost instantly.
2 - it makes a big mess... or maybe it only makes a big mess when an ISTP is using it.
3 - "Self-leveling" is a misnomer.
Anyhow, step one is done. It has to dry and then it's ready for the underlayment and click together flooring, and then finally the quarter-round molding.
Would love to get that all done this week.
