From "Man's Search for Meaning" by Victor E. Frankl...

The true meaning of life is to be discovered in the world rather than within man or his own psyche, as though it were a closed system...

Being human always points and is directed to something or someone other than oneself -- be it a meaning to fulfill or another human being to encounter. The more one forgets himself -- by giving himself to a cause to serve or another person to love -- the more human he is and the more he actualizes himself.

What is called self-actualization is not an attainable aim at all, for the simple reason that the more one would strive for it, the more he would miss it. In other words, self-actualization is possible only as a side effect of self-transcendence.

I agree with helping others and being selfless but truly, creational knowledge or 'the meaning of life' is found when you look within. Creational laws can be seen in nature but looking within through meditation is the only real way to realization and raw knowledge. Meditation is the only way you'll find what every one of us is looking for the anwers lie within. From within, we can then stretch out to help others improve.

So, self-actualization is just like one of those pictures that you can't look at directly if you want to see the image? Damn! I always had trouble seeing those stupid things. :(

Heh, I saw the title, and I was like "yay!" but then I read the text... That idea in the book is probably the only one I don't buy. It's a depressing thought. I need to believe that the answer is in myself, not somewhere else. And it would be pointless for me to go in search of a meaning outside myself. If I don't spontaneously find that meaning, it is just a desperate attempt to find something to relieve me of my boredom. And If I believe that there is no point looking inside, then what point is there in psychology? So, Frankl actually disowns himself in that sentence.

Hollywood tells us to trust our hearts (find self-realization from within). But which one of us is truly a closed system? Everything we know is a result of interaction from the outer world. We learn about gravity as a toddler dropping food from the highchair . . . we learn about love from our parents. I believe to find ourselves we must look within, but we also need to see ourselves in context of the greater whole. We are all merely a small part mimicking the greater whole in fractal design of life. To understand the part is to understand the whole (in part :/) and to understand the whole is to understand the part. This paradox will drive us crazy. As the wisest man in the world once said, "With much study comes much weariness." Needless to say each person will look to the proper place (either without or within) to find the appropriate piece of the puzzle for the moment we ask the right question. Our education is never finished.

Is there a reason a person would use the assumption that every IP address is accessed by only one person is a valid cause to accuse someone of a "dupe", or, secondary account?

You're not welcome
