They're stuck 800 years in the future, their selection pool was rather small, and she was actually in officer training as selected by the ship Captain.

But I never even watched season 4, this became like a Walking Dead show... something I'd watch months later if at all simply to say I knew the plotline. Meh. Kinda gave up.

Ensign Harry Kim keeps being passed on for promotion for the entirety of the Voyager series so he's become a laughing stock and a meme for the fans.

Oh chill. He got to command the bridge whenever Janeway, Tuvok and Chakotay were on an away mission (and it's common for Starfleet to let command officers and every dep't head beam down on away missions), and if you watch "Endgame," it's pretty obvious he was fast-tracked for promotion after he returned. Most likely he would've been promoted immediately to Lieutenant, and then the standard time it might take to get a LT Cmdr promotion was probably waived due to the circumstances. Janeway most definitely would've recommended him for fast track in command division.

Also, rank hierarchy doesn't quite mean the same thing for 24th century starfleet as it does for modern militaries--while rank is definitely observed in ST, it tends to be much looser, less of a rigid boundary between rungs on the ladder

Harry Kim is actually an interesting character. On the one hand, they would often use him as the everyman who has bad shit happen to him (i.e. Riker and O'Brien), but then on the other hand they portrayed him as the bright prodigy on the ship (sorta like Wesley or Bashir in the later DS9 seasons). I don't know if this was due to the general laziness and lack of vision in the Voyager writing room.

Sylvia Tilly is typed as ENFP on personality database btw. I think that fits as she seem to have a habit of rambling.

They typed her enneagram tritype as 279, but if she's and ENFP, thritype order should be more like 729 = Ne-Fe-Si
