Has anyone else outside illinois been getting these shitty political ads that are disguised as a newspaper? I'm livid about them. The name is changed according to the county it's delivered in - there's an emphasis on it being "local news" - but it's the same fucking ad underneath the name. "Real data. Real value. Real news." Delivered for free, unrequested, to absolutely every residence - without a single advertisement in any of them. Loaded with blatant disinformation; mostly about trans kids getting mutilated, Pritzker putting dangerous criminals out on the streets (SAFE-T act), and public schools "failing."
There isn't a single mention in these fucking things about whose paying for them. Isn't that illegal? This "weekly news" started six weeks ago, and I assume the timing is intentional - they wanted enough time to effectively fear-monger, but didn't want to allow enough time for legal problems to harm credibility.
I haven't watched the "defense" they posted on YouTube. I've read a couple stories covering it when it first started happening, and seeing people defend it by saying "like MSM isn't biased" is depressing enough.
Bailey (Pritzker's opponent) isn't as aggressively ignorant as Walker, but he's still dumb as a post. He's stated that he hasn't seen any indication that crime guns in Illinois are coming from Indiana (there's such a clear, easily provable trail of it that Chicago started a lawsuit against a single gun store responsible for (I want to say 20%?) a lot of it), and that Pritzker is focusing on guns too much and not enough on border security ( ...in Illinois).
If we get Bailey as a governor - if we have to deal with this absolutely moronic GOP puppet-to-big-money-source bullshit in Illinois - I'm really going to lose my shit.
