‘QAnon’ conspiracy theory creeps into mainstream politics
Politics Feb 9, 2020 4:41 PM EST

MILWAUKEE — President Donald Trump was more than halfway through his speech at a rally in Milwaukee when one of his hand gestures caught the eye of a supporter standing in the packed arena.

The 51-year-old woman believed the president had traced the shape of the letter “Q” with his fingers as a covert signal to followers of QAnon, a right-wing, pro-Trump conspiracy theory. She turned to the couple on her right and excitedly asked, “Did you see the ‘Q’?”

“He just did it?” asked Diane Jacobson, 63, of Racine, Wisconsin.

“Was that a ‘Q’?” added Jacobson’s husband, Randy, 64.

“I think it was,” replied their new friend, Chrisy. The Geneva, Illinois, resident declined to give her last name in part because she said she wanted to avoid negative “attention.”

“Trump is trying to tell us, to the best he can without compromising intelligence, what’s really going on,” she said.

:rofl1:

He is overt in his signals because after receiving Congress's permission to act as a dictator, he, being ever-cautious about minor political notes, still aims to remain elusive...

"He's the only candidate focused on working people."

I want a candidate who focuses on all Americans. Get rid of the populistic tactics.

I passed through that airport and it is pretty big building to go through even without any waiting.

However to be honest I don't feel bad about Brexit at all. Brexit opened the door for EU to reorganize itself into a serious structure and that is a "god given" opportunity that should be used. Throughout years one big chunk of UK was pretty open about what it thinks of EU and certain votes happened. If they or some chunk of the country ever decide to come back the union will probably open the door (and that will prove a certain point). While if that doesn't happen that is also ok.

Industry Voices—What's missing from the debate about 'Medicare For All'? Combating billions in healthcare fraud.

Exactly right. But no one wants to talk about it since it might ding their voter turnout. Shhh. Close your eyes. You know you want it.

If you suddenly find yourself on the same side as Ben Shapino:

Ok, I take that back:

Ben's Twtter said:
They are all such morons. I mean, seriously. Warren ran in the wrong lane; she thought Biden would be more durable than Bernie, so she ran in Bernie's lane. She lost. Instead of going after Bernie, she decided to clock Bloomberg in a replay of the Christie-Rubio murder-suicide.

He at least recognizes how much this looks like 2016 on the Republican side, although he didn't mention everyone piling on Ted Cruz. That's probably why he's so scared. Facts don't care about your feelings, though.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching Elizabeth Warren reduce Bloomberg to incredulous looks and stammering with her drilling on his workplace conduct and series of NDA's by former employees.

A Sanders/Warren ticket needs to happen -- it would be like the Democratic party's version of the fusion dance to combine powers (and voters) to compete against the almighty armies of Majin Trump

"I'd like to talk about who we’re running against," Warren said. "A billionaire who calls women 'fat broads' and 'horse-faced lesbians,' and no, I’m not talking about Donald Trump. I’m talking about Mayor Bloomberg."

Fact check:

Where did Bloomberg’s “horse-faced lesbian” phrase come from?

The note is dated February 14, 1990 — the former New York City mayor’s birthday.

The book itself includes some fun facts about Bloomberg — like his favorite song is “My Way” and his middle name is “Rambunctious” — and then about 30 pages of Bloomberg sayings throughout.

Regarding the “horse-faced lesbian” quote, this is the actual quote, according to this book:

“The Royal family — what a bunch of misfits — a gay, an architect, that horsey faced lesbian, and a kid who gave up Koo Stark for some fat broad.”

So she turned a comment from a 1990 book regarding the Royal family into a misleading generalization of: "A billionaire who calls women 'fat broads' and 'horse-faced lesbians.'"

Ridiculous tactic.

If Trump said the same thing, you'd be all over him for violating a norm of how we need to talk about the Head of State of our closest ally and treat them with respect. In that case, the fact that it was against the royal family would not let him off the hook.

My post had to do with Warren misleading people. I couldn't care less about violating norms, seeing how I do it on a daily basis.

Can we get a side by side comparison between the "horsey faced lesbian" and an actual horse? I can't decide if I'm offended unless I see the actual person next to a horse.:D If it's an accurate description, then Bloomberg did nothing wrong.
