It's been a while since I've made a post here.
Today I have "Popular people" on my mind.
I find them to be greatly intimidating.
I should state that when I say "Popular" what I mean is people who have lots of friends, socialize a lot, are the life of the party, talk to tons and tons of people and go out a lot.
Maybe this is why I never got on Facebook, it seems a popularity contest of sorts.
My mother and siblings are popular. I could never keep up because it exhausts me and more importantly intimidates me. Even coming from my own family. I am more like my late father. He wasn't popular like that but he could have been if he wanted to. He was loved.
I do find popular people entertaining and fun to be around but usually it will trigger some discomfort in me after a few hours and I need to retreat for a while before rejoining them again. This has been going on my whole life. And I do like being around them. I don't know, it's confusing. It's probably an issue that I need to work though. I don't think that I'm all that shy though.
I wanted to make the distinction between popular and extrovert. I know some extroverts who seemingly keep to themselves and some introverts who socialize a ton. I find that I tend to like hanging around the less popular people the most because we can hang for extended periods of time and I'm not afraid of them. It's just comfortable.
Anyways, I don't know what all this means. I'm just thinking and expressing myself.
