Poll to determine what type cheats the most. I know people say that it doesn't depend on your MBTI type but polls can only determine that

There were topics about this in the enfj Facebook group. lol Many had the thought that our value system wouldn't allow us to do such a thing. I had to inform that people, regardless of type, are capable of anything.
More or less prone is a different assessment, however.

Worst poll set up ever. You won't have an equal # of each type participating. Some types are rarer than others, some types are more prone to be on the forum, some people are more likely to participate in this sort of poll. And even if you had an equal # of each type participating (which you don't), you'll have an honesty bias, and people's personal definitions of 'cheating' can vary.

I agree, but in any poll on here you never have equal # of types exactly voting. But while this vote might be a rough kind of estimate of who cheats most, it does open up discussion on this topic a bit as well. But yeah, won't be the most accurate poll but nevertheless is a poll to open up discussion.

Exactly. But "S" types seem more dutiful and wouldn't cheat. Extraverts definately would cheat more. Feelers do what they feel and what is not logical so they would as well. Perceivers are impulsive. So I am guessing ENFP.

So you think "Feely" types are less likely to cheat because of their value system?

Looks like looks lke:

Researchers have also explored the relationship between infidelity and the “Big Five” personality traits—openness to new experience, conscientiousness, extroversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism – and related traits. Individuals who engage in infidelity are more open to new experiences and extroverted than their partners (Orzeck & Lung, 2005; Wiederman & Hurd, 1999; Yeniceri & Kokdemir, 2006), and more susceptible to boredom (Hendrick & Hendrick, 1987). Sexual infidelity is also associated with low agreeableness (Costa & McCrae, 1992; Graziano & Eisenberg, 1997), with low conscientiousness, and with higher neuroticism, or lacking positive psychological adjustment (Whisman et al., 2007).

So, in MBTI terms that would be preference for E, N, T, and P (and high neuroticism) would be more likely to stray. That's a correlation (cheating and Big Five) of a correlation (Big Five and MBTI type), so take all that with many grains of salt. Even if that relationship holds, still doesn't predict much about any given individual.

Eh I'm on the fence. I could potentially see feely types being either less likely because of value system, or more likely due to interactions with others

I would think extroverted "feely" types cheat more since they talk to more people. But that would be more the extraversion than the feeling part of their type.

But an ISTJ will never cheat because they don't go anywhere. The opposite of an ISTJ is an ENFP, so maybe those are the cheaters lol

HEY BURN

... we do go out

... just ... when you're not looking....

anyway put it this way, they have more opportunities, and that ne dom is probably always thinking about it as a possibility on some level. doesn't mean they'd act on it if Fi is strong enough and they deem it wrong, two factors that are extremely important in any individual. Source: Extremely skewed source from 1 ex who confessed to looking on OKC when I wasn't responding to his calls.

Anyway

... I've only really cheated once when I was very young and in a bad relationship with a man twice my age. Had other opportunities, felt bad about it, so didn't.

Just. Putting that out there.

Pretty sure INTJs relatively secure with me because I never fucking go out, though, because at some point they're convinced I'm a) ISTP b) definitely gonna cheat.

What is it called when one partner cuts off communication and sexual intimacy with the other and instead goes online to form cyber-relationships or jack off to porn? I realize porn alone is not "cheating", but when done in place of having sex with a partner, it is something that has the same effect on a relationship. Emotional intimacy online especially with a lot of sexual dialog is also something that is not all that innocent - especially when done behind a partner's back and when done in place of communicating or having sex with a partner. There are a lot of ways to accomplish essentially the same thing as cheating and the internet makes it easier for introverts to cross similar lines.

I don't even remember how I cheated and why I didn't bother to consider that it's not really okay to start new relationships with people when you already are in one... well I remember both girls, and I met them both at about the same time, but Idk who I dated first. These were girls I liked to talk to and share life with in a random chat room back when the site was still alive and hip back in the 7th grade I think... I miss them both. Without them I wouldn't have evolved from my decadent and horrible taste in music at the time into something way more artsy and versatile and amazing. I think they were ISFPs

No never did, never would..

Even though I never loved my husband, and not getting along with him, I've rejected guys harshly when they tried to get me while they know I'm married, I am an intense person, that's why I can come across as rude sometimes..
There's this guy whom I rejected who now lives and works at the same building that I live in, and seeing him almost on a daily basis and when he gets on the same elevator with me is so freaking akward
