Please recommend a book for my mother!

She's an ISFJ middle-aged Chinese women. She's fluent in English, though I wouldn't give her anything too wordy. Currently, she's helping a local charity teach adults English as a second language. She loves cultures and interpersonal relationships, be that a mother and daughter relationship, teacher and student, whatever. Intense, negative things aren't her cup of tea, and she wouldn't enjoy reading Song of Ice and Fire and other things of that type. I'm thinking of getting her Kite Runner, but I haven't read the book myself.

Any suggestions?
