It's as though my existence rests upon having issues, which, ironically enough, is an issue in itself.

Things must change.

I feel as thought I'm at the end of a rebellion stage. Yes, I am aware that I have the capacity to be independent. No, I cannot make everyone treat me as though I am. And, the fact that I know I can be is enough to make me realize that I cannot become independent simply by saying it. I actually have to make myself independent, without help.
