I think trying to generalize the types within the theory has led to lackluster descriptions, oversimplified analysis, and ultimately a lot more stereotypes and "judgment typing" rather than attempting to really analyze how one works. The more I study MBTI, the more I see its limitations in being a complete picture. Ultimately, there will be variations even within the specific types on how this type manifests. If you can leave behind surface level descriptors and realize what each function is actually doing you can then begin to assess your type constructively without bias. Because ultimately it is serving a function and this function while it may manifest for different things will ultimately work on a similar level.
