They called today and offered me the job as Technical Clerk!
I start in a couple weeks.
My supervisor is going to be a woman who my husband used to refer to as "Sunshine Sue"!
The pay and benefits are excellent.
They said they interviewed 16 people, but I was one of the "outstanding candidates"! :static:

Congratulations, that is certainly an accomplishment to be proud of.
I have never come across the job title of 'technical clerk' - What are the duties involved with such a role?

That is quite intriguing since the production of engineering products would be well-regarded in future references of a resume.
I assumed there would be a high level of administrative and clerical experience involved due to the 'clerk' part of the job title.

Last week I began a customer service role with a marketing agency. At the moment, the work involves clerical/administrative duties and responding to a wide range of business-specific enquiries.
The manager expects to train me in the advertising/sales department over time which would be fantastic as I have yet to undertake a Major in Marketing and need the work experience to penetrate the industry.

It is certainly a time of excitement and enthusiasm when a person begins a new job.

Very cool. I'm happy for you.
I'm toward the end of my career, not the beginning.
I hope to work at this place for 10 years and retire...
since I am 51 years old.
So in that realm, I wasn't really looking for something impressive to put on my resume.
In fact, this job is probably THE highest paying job, with the best benefits, I could find in my entire state...
because I don't have a degree and I have hardly any work-place experience,
since I've mostly been a full-time mother and homemaker for the last 25 years.
I'm already entering the field near the top of the ladder.
I don't really have any other ambitions other than doing well and not going insane from the incessant multi-tasking.

And when I say multi-tasking, I don't mean doing a lot of different things at once.
I mean doing jobs that don't have an end.
They just keep going and going and you can never feel like you finished anything.

Not only is the job a great financial opportunity,
it's only 3 MILES AWAY!!
tee-hee :static:

Thank you!
As long as there are no false positives on my drug test, I start on Monday!
