I have generally heard that people expect robots to not understand humor, but I think that is going to be proven quite wrong. Besides the fact that Sophia the Robot is hilarious at times, humor itself is a direct inversion of logic. Some of the funniest people I've known primarily logical and one described humor as being 'juxtaposing notions that are distant in semantic space', and since then I've noticed it's true.
I think humor is actually a way that humans facilitate learning. It is a way to experiment with new ways of thinking, new ways to combine ideas. It is the foundation of creativity and innovation. Even at the earliest stages of life when babies find peek-a-boo hilarious. It's because they are developing object permanence. It is juxtaposing two distant ideas of presence/absence. If you imagine playing the game without object permanence, that would make it hilarious.
