How Should I Proceed?...

So I was frustrated at work again, and my mind believed the following:

So it seemed, my desire to understand the fundamentals of whatever I was thinking about, and my desire to create something profoundly useful are at odds. They seem like mutually beneficial things, except that both use up resources, but for some reason I felt creating something profoundly useful would feed resources.

Then I was thinking... they both use resources. I am never getting back time in particular, but if I do create something profoundly useful, then there is a possibility it will feed the money store.

Then I started to wonder what it is that I am not considering. This model is nearly useless for me ending my frustration.

One clear desire is to keep my job.

Here things get complicated. Keeping my job clearly gives me money. But this is profoundly different from creating something profoundly useful. I am simply doing my job, when I design the things that I do. This analysis is still useless. Where is the lynch-pin that will allow me to resolve this frustration?

Should I continue down this path of analysis to hope I discover something? Or should I be thinking in an entirely different paradigm?
