I'll start by answering my own questions.

1. Yep, very much so. I am an electronics troubleshooter and I get a certain satisfaction in figuring out why shit goes wrong and gets broke.

2. Collectively 15 years, this company in the last couple years though.

3. Pay is decent, standard middle class income.

4. 40 to 60 hours.

5. I was a deckhand on a commercial fishing boat , started that one when I was 15.

I mainly hang out with and talk with people who are older than me so maybe it's all rubbed off on me? I'm in my mid-20s now.

1. Hate my uni course tbh. It has it's moments, but generally it doesn't incite curiousity in me.
2. In my 3rd year so nearly 3.
3. I lose 9k a year to have basic lectures so nope, doesn't pay well at all.
4. About 18 hrs of lectures a week this year I think.
5. First job was at a Christian bookstore when I was 16, I really enjoyed it tbh, idk why but I like retail work cos you're always busy doing something and I enjoy seeing my work affect other people positively.

Yes. In fact, I l-o-v-e both teaching and writing.

Writing since I could pick up a pen (first paid gig as a teen). Teaching since 2008.

3. Pay acceptable?

Not entirely. Although my needs are simple I love travel & cost of living is high where I am. Currently in schooling for new occupation (though will keep an oar in with teaching/writing).

4. How many hours do you put in a week?

Varies. Can include hours during the night for students in other time zones. My new profession will ideally involve 25-30 hours a week.

5. What was your first job and how old were you when you started it?

My first job started at 15. I bought a business from someone I knew (cleaning computer's) and continued with it until I was 20.

I'm a student. I can't say I really enjoy it all that much, but it's what I do right now.

Counting preschool, 3 years old.

HAHA.

About 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. So 40. If I do an hour of homework each night, then 45 hours. But really, I don't do that much per evening. I'd say a ballpark range of anywhere from 38 (a little commute, I guess) to 48. I dunno. This isn't a question I can really answer.

Started working for my church nursery/camp/childcare at 16.

I worked in a specialist library when I was 18 as part of a college work study program. It was by far my favorite job.

1. Job to get health insurance and stable income = starbucks barista, but an ongoing desire /thing I've been working on the past few years is selling art and photography, which is of more value to me. Small success with that but will almost certainly always need a main job outside of that bringing in most of the income. I like starbucks gig, yes, as well as can be expected, and love the lifestyle. Much moreso than corporate professional desk jobs of years past.

2. Left corporate world in mid 2013, been at starbucks since late 2014.

3. No. That's the main issue. I have a very low cost lifestyle, with exception of desire to travel a lot more, and to be able to eat out a little more on occasion or take a fun class that costs money, or stuff like that (I buy/pay for experiences, not things). As it stands, can't do any of that extra stuff really. But like I said, lifestyle is otherwise ideal, and would actually allow for more travel if I had more supplemental income, so......Something I need to solve for.

4. 32-38 typically, for sbux job. I paint a lot outside of that, though, but don't count that as 'hours' put in, since it's fun.

5. Age 19, business office assistant in a small life sciences office on college campus. Started at $5-6-ish an hour.

Enough yes. I'm a graduate student (organic chemistry), which is more or less a job. I enjoy my work, but it's also not what I want to do for the rest of my life.

Started in fall 2011

Yes. I mean for grad school anyway, I make quite a bit more than most programs so I am happy with it.

4. How many hours do you put in a week?

30-60. It's highly variable.

I worked in Kmart summer of 2007 when I was 18, I was a mess at that job but always drove sales up?

Yes, it's fun and interesting for now. I'm working as a video editor while studying full-time.

Since the start of the year. I'll probably stay here one more year until I finish my degree, and then move on to something else.

I make more than a lot of my friends in other student jobs. I'm quite happy with it at the moment.

4. How many hours do you put in a week?

Between 16 and 24 hours (2-3 full days a week).

5. What was your first job and how old were you when you started it?

I started my first two jobs when I was 16. I worked at a fair trade store one day a week, and as a medical receptionist another day a week.

1. Do you enjoy your job/career? Yes, very much so. I'm a content editor for a smallish educational publishing company. For the past couple of years I've been working in the Assessments department, which is not nearly as soul-sucking as I thought it would be- we have been creating short quizzes for each Common Core standard to help teachers gauge students' understanding of the concepts behind the standards. They are short and sweet and I believe really do help teachers know whether their students are picking up what they're laying down.

2. How long have you been doing it? I started working full time for this company in 2012, but before that I freelanced for this and other companies starting in about 2006. So I guess I've been in this line of work for about ten years.

3. Pay acceptable? Quite, especially considering the company is 1000 miles away from me so I work remotely from my couch in my jammies. Livin' the dream.

4. How many hours do you put in a week? 40. My manager doesn't like us to put in more, she'd rather push out the deadlines so we don't have to work our fingers to bloody stumps. She's a great manager who understands the value of a well-rested and appreciated employee.

5. What was your first job and how old were you when you started it? I babysat a lot starting at 13/14ish, but my first jobby-job was at Toys R Us when I was 17 and it sucked hardcore.

1. Do you enjoy your job/career?

Not currently working but will be soon. I generally tolerate working alright, but I have a joke that- 'Every job foes the job of getting me to hate it in its own unique way'.

Student right now- usually I would work but this year... Just no. Was no.

2. How long have you been doing it?

Being a student? Too long in a traditional sense- not long enough in a worldly/independent/non traditional sense. I wish, and hope to continue to learn throughout my life- anything and everything that I find fascinating.

3. Pay acceptable?

No since Im not working. And yes, when Im working I generally say- if I will work it- I am agreeing to the terms of what Im getting. Not always ideal, but I wouldnt be doing the job if I didn't think it worth it.

4. How many hours do you put in a week?

When I work... Generally part time. Anywhere from 25-35 usually.

5. What was your first job and how old were you when you started it?

McDonalds. About 17ish. Worked like a dog too. 3-10pm (right after school until about time to sleep) every weekday but wednesday. And 6am-noon on saturday. And they would make sure to cut me any time I started to approach the line of 'full time' think it was 35 hours that counted as full time... And I was always scheduled for more than that but... Never worked that. Manager would make sure to occasionally cut my shift at 9 instead of 10- to the point where I pretty consistantly worked 30-34 hours instead of 38 or whatever that amount is unchecked. I wanted a lot of hours though because my dad had been going through one of his 'mean cycles' then and working gave me an excuse to avoid being at home much of the time. And it wasn't always that bad- occasionally was fun. McDonalds was easily the most entertaining job I had.

About 30 on average. 40-45 when it's needed but that's rare.
