Perhaps but internet isn't exactly "the real deal". Until you are governed by these people the odds are that you wouldn't see the problem for what it is.
Plus if they hang on the internet doing "chat" the odds are that this isn't far left either. Those people you are talking about are mostly what it is called "red anarchists" or "progressives" .... or something similar to that.
Lot of tankie shills and people who have just sold out to moneyed interests as well

The depth of analysis on the failure of capitalism is abound. I have read a lot of that literature. The neoliberal consensus is not something I hold dear at all.



I am pointing out, however, that there are well trod paths in the Communist direction that ended really badly as well.

Yes, but talking about the subject, glorifying the subject for money, thinking about the subject ... that is all quite different than actually living the idea 24/7 in practice (regardless if you like it or not).
