Ukraine guarantees every Russian soldier who surrenders three things:

1. you will be treated in a civilised manner, in accordance with all conventions;
2. no one will know the circumstances of your surrender, no one in Russia will know that your surrender was voluntary;
3. if you are afraid to return to Russia and do not want an exchange, we will find a way to ensure this as well.

So, now is the key moment for all of you: right now it is being decided whether your life will end or not. It is better not to take a conscription letter than to die in a foreign land as a war criminal. It is better to run away from criminal mobilisation than to be crippled and then bear responsibility in the court for participating in the war of aggression. It is better to surrender to Ukrainian captivity than to be killed by the strikes of our weapons, absolutely fair strikes, as Ukraine defends itself in this war

The hotline has received a lot of calls from Russians who were called up recently, and even from some who have even been called up yet. They’re calling and asking ‘What should I do if I get called up? What do I have to do, what’s the right way to surrender?’

They need to put this info in the Russian army field manual or something.

Summary and key findings

Since the military conflict between Russia and Ukraine began on February 24, 2022, the U.S. has committed $7.6 billion in military assistance and weaponry to Ukraine, according to the Pentagon.

When assessing the level of U.S. support for the Ukrainian military in its war with Russia, 45% of Americans said the U.S. was giving the right amount of support, 31% felt the U.S. was providing too much support to Ukraine, and 25% believed the U.S. was not providing enough support.

On average, those who feel the U.S. has not provided enough assistance tend to be more educated, more affluent, and older than those who feel current levels are sufficient or too high. In addition, women and white respondents tended to favor more assistance for Ukraine.

• Opinions on how much the U.S. should support Ukraine is strongly divided based on political affiliation:
  • A majority of Democrat (56%) respondents believe the U.S. was providing the right amount of support for Ukraine, while 40% of Independents and 34% of Republicans believed the same.
  • Republicans (46%) and Independents (42%) were far more likely than Democrats (11%) to believe the U.S. was providing too much support for Ukraine
• Opinions on supporting Ukraine also vary significantly by racial and ethnic group.
  • A majority of Hispanic (61%) and Black (58%) Americans believe the U.S. was providing the right amount of support for Ukraine, compared with 40% of white respondents and 33% of those in other racial or ethnic groups.

When presented with a list of six entities that might influence how the Ukrainian military is supported, a strong majority of Americans believe top U.S. military officials should have influence in making those decisions (73%).

• U.S. State Department experts and U.S. NATO allies were also highly rated by respondents in terms of the influence they should have in deciding support for Ukraine.
  • Experts at the Department of State were rated by 65% of respondents who believed they should have a fair amount or a great deal of influence in deciding the type and level of support Ukraine receives.
  • 62% of Americans believe NATO should have a great deal or fair amount of influence in supporting Ukraine.
• Americans are most polarized on how much influence President Biden should have in making decisions to support the Ukrainian military. A slight majority, 52%, believe the President should be making these decisions, but 49% believe he should have little or no influence in the matter.
  • Well over a quarter of Americans (29%) believe Biden should have no influence at all in deciding U.S. military assistance to Ukraine. This is a higher proportion than any other group listed in the survey.
  • However, the same proportion (29%) believe Biden should have a great deal of influence, making Biden the third most popular choice for Americans in terms of who they believe should wield great influence over support for Ukraine.
• Opinions about who should exercise a great deal of influence on U.S. policy toward Ukraine differ somewhat along demographic lines, especially by generation and political affiliation.
  • A higher proportion of those in older Americans, especially those in the Silent Generation, would trust everyone from top military officers to the U.S. Congress with having a great deal of influence than is the case among younger Americans.
  • Over half of Democrats think President Biden should wield a great deal of influence over U.S. policy toward Ukraine, compared with only 10% of Republicans.
  • One-third of Republicans think their fellow Americans should have a great deal of influence over U.S. policy toward Ukraine, compared with only 18% of Democrats.

The allegation comes after both Nord Stream undersea gas pipelines sprang a leak on Monday.

I don't know if they're even going to be able to identify each other's nationality though. I'm guessing they're not going to be wearing flag emblems or flag-colored clothing. How are you thinking they'll know each other's nationality?

Social media is all over this here in Germany. Most suspect Russia. Those on the far right and far left as well as quite a few in Southern Europe and overseas like in Africa, who tend to be pro-Russian or anti-West, suspect the United States did it.

According to German media reports the CIA had warned the German government something like this might be happening. That leads me to believe they have additional intel and some more info might come out in the near future. I know the US has a lot of dirt and blood on its hands but it doesn't make sense to me they'd do something this crass to an ally.

One Wonders how much everyone would lose their mind if this all did turn out to just be a coincidence...after all coincidences happen all the time, very common things coincidences...but I don't trust them.

As a life-long US citizen, I actually wouldn't be surprised. Although, they would likely at least make it a false flag so that someone else would get the blame.
