I would tend to agree. But it will be expensive, and that tends to change everything once it actually comes time to finance things. Talk is cheap and it is what politicians love to do. However, if Trump, Trump clones and 'fortress America' is going to become the new reality going forward, the rest of the world has to move on.

It will cost, but the price could be peanuts if we aren't truly ready for what is ahead.
Plus if you are investing in your own defense sector then all the prices become easier to manage. Since you control investment level and "the profit". It is time for EU to grow up.

The vote is in about 5 weeks and the only party that is really growing is hard right AfD (and perhaps Greens in the big picture),
Therefore it is becoming questionable if two party government made out of mainstream parties will be possible based on results. In other words if you need 3 mainstream parties that is likely to lead into further instability.



Austria — 2024 general election

When it comes to the polling average hard right is taking very large lead. Especially since it seem that it will for the first time get the top job in the country.
