I was thinking this would be better suited in the Nature/Wildlife forum.

As most people know, California is in debt. Neither Democrats nor Republicans are willing to do anything that permits any sort of progress and the only way to doing anything about the debt is to cut. It has not helped one bit... and that it has actually worsened the debt. Just yesterday, on Memorial Day, our state government were getting ready to close state parks.
Anyhow, the site I listed is a documentary that is going to be aired on PBS sometime around this fall. Certain state parks that loses funding and can't be managed after the cut will be handed back to the federal government (I.E. Yosemite and Angel Island if it actually gets that bad even though they are two very popular destinations,) while state parks that are, well, state parks might not be as lucky (many may be drastically cut or closed down.)
Many ideas have been proposed, like allowing private companies to build freeways on state parks (yes, some actually proposed that idea.) While others thought about allowing fracking to occur near state parks. (like how some people went to my college to propose an idea of allowing fracking to occur in return of funding higher education.)
Really, I want none of that. It is like history vanishing. The politicians need to learn to get their acts together. The cost to fund these state parks doesn't even compare to many other idea's generated by the state. At 22m to fund the state parks, it is 3 times as less costly as funding immigrants (illegal or not) into going to college (at ~65m.) It is not even close to the $100 billion funding of the state rail ways.
