So the DC Madam committed suicide yesterday in a trailer park.
I don't know if this aligns with reality or not, but I was thinking this morning on the way to work that I notice that when these high profile, high class prostitution rings are lead by a woman, she tends to get jail time. Maybe it's simply more press, so it appears that women more often go to jail, but I wonder if there's an equal amount of jail time when a man gets busted for essentially being a good ol fashioned pimp vs. a woman. In some ways, it seems natural that a man would be the pimp and unnatural that a woman would be. And in the most current example (as with most of them) she ran an "escort" service. With escort services, the women tend to be more education and aside from sexual services they also offer arm candy and conversation...maybe like a geisha?
I also wonder if the mind control aspects of pimping is there when a woman is the pimp. I think a woman would be more egalitarian than a man, I don't know why but it seems that way to me. Male pimps are often a father figure. A male pimp could use physical intimidation to back up psychological threats and juju, but what would a woman use? What methods of control would a woman exert against another woman in the same situation if they needed to be exerted? Or is the "arrangement" significantly different enough that it requires some different type of relating?
