This is an interesting speculative article. It would be fascinating to live in a time when humans populate the solar system and evolve into distinct sub-species. There are obviously several layers of speculation, but this thread is intended mostly for wonder and imagination to discuss freely.

One interesting difference that occurs to me is that biological systems alone may not be able to evolve to interact with these extreme environments without cybernetic components. I would suspect that a species living in near-cryogenic conditions could likely be primarily robotic, but with some biological components? This could be true of many of these species being hybrid biological-mechanical creatures. What do you think?

I'm hoping we make it that far into the future.

We largely get the future we imagine, and most seem to prefer imagining doom and gloom these days.

Cryogenics still seems a long ways away. Another alternative is to have generations evolve in flight from planet to planet.

We're already pretty cyborg (augments include glasses, cosmetics, dental, and implants more generally)
