I thought I might be an aspie for quite a long time. I've never been officially diagnosed and have no current interest in seeing a specialist.
Since getting into MBTI and JCF, I have come to highly doubt I am a true aspie, although my wife still insists she thinks I am one. I tried to explain Jungian Cognitive Functions to her and explain I merely have weak Fe, but her eyes always sort of glaze over when I try to talk about MBTI and she thinks my interest in typology is kind of silly and obsessive (even though she swears by Ayurvedic types--I even went so far as trying to interest her in the enneagram and temperament theory, since I think they overlap somewhat with the ayurvedic types)--she even tried to convince me that my obsessive pursuit of various interests, topics, and hobbies indicates aspergers or autism.
The frustrating thing is that she will bring me up in conversation with friends, telling them how she is married to an autistic guy. What's even funnier, though, is that her friends are usually confounded. "Ryan? But he's so charming and doesn't seem socially awkward at all"
Meh, I give up.
