Any tips for typing people?

I have difficulties typing my friends and family members, but it would be strange to ask them to take a test as they don't seemed interested in mbti.
Any tips for that?
My friend:
She tries hard to avoid hurting peopke in her words so she always say things which people like to hear rather than the truth.
Likes playing basketball
Talks quietly
More likely to be an introvert
Likes art, literature and maths.
Spend a lot of money on beautiful things she wants rather than useful stuff, but she still manage her money well as she tries to control herself.
Do things very slowly
Gentle
Cares about her appearance a lot

Why not take a look at their interaction styles first? They're rather visible in observation, and if you correctly identify it, you'll have narrowed your types down to four instead of sixteen. After all, looking at interests and traits don't really help outside of stereotypes, sad to say.

That should make things much easier, I think.

Really get to know them, and what their rationale for doing things are. Spend time with them and observe. Compare with the function definitions.
