I don't really give a shit at this point in time.

Oh, so I guess you didn't actually mean that whole "these are not normal times" lecture you gave me earlier. I've heard that every election I've ever voted in, by the way.

I don't really think the last 20 years have been "normal times", whatever that even is, so I guess it applies.

How about wiping out all college debt and all home mortgages? Free food for every golden retriever, too. Then comes the free cars for everyone and the free condoms. It's free, everything you ever wanted is free. People will run and get Bernie's bumpersticker:

Vote for me. Everything is free!

Truth to be told:

As I said I am getting out of college with 0$ in student debt
Plus we have a program that helps with mortgages for young families. While warzone refugees some really poor people even got their own place without having to pay anything directly.

In other word you are forgetting I am from the country where coalition of Ex-communists, socialist liberals, minorities and "work and solidarity party" passes as conservative government. Therefore this kind of rant doesn't really work on me. :D

However I admit that "free" should be replaced with "socialized" to get the real picture but this can potentially work as a model (we have much better public debt to GDP ratio than USA, even if we had a large war on our soil recently). After all if people bailed out the wall street it would be kinda fair that wall street clears up the student debt (which actually chokes the economy). I know that something like this would fundamentally transform American mindset but I can see it working if implemented with enough competency.

Let me phrase that differently..... I hope your antipathy towards people "getting free stuff" as you inaccurately call it doesn't cause you to choose to support a candidate who will blow the general election.
Jaguar probably voted Republican before the Tea Party came along. So it is understandable that he feels less than enthusiastic about progressive Democrats. Would not be surprised if he voted for McCain in 2008.

I don’t see any of the front runners easily beating Trump
It will be difficult for any person, regardless of talent and credentials, simply because Trump as a 24-hour propaganda network that reaches large portions of voters who actually go to the polls. It is worth remembering, however, that Trump almost lost to Hillary fucking Clinton, a very flawed candidate in her own right. Imagine what a Democrat with some charisma might have done to Trump in 2016.

Kamala Harris' campaign has imploded; she's now behind Klobuchar in 6th place in Iowa. Corey Booker is below 5% in most national polls. Shouldn't these two stop wasting people's time and money?

Meanwhile, Warren has hemorrhaged 50% of her support in only a month. I guess people don't like the mean librarian persona. I'm still waiting for some think tank to crunch the numbers on her plan. I'm guessing it'll cost the average middle class American about $40,000 in new taxes. Basically, if you can afford to pay Warren's new taxes, you can afford to buy the best insurance plan yourself.

The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money.

Okay, Kamala. Where will your supporters go? Harris calls it quits.

Saw that. That's kinda big news, since she was Top Five.

Not surprised though. She had one good moment in the early debate, then didn't know what to do with it and has been slowly dying ever since.

You're kidding, right?

Most of us have been drinking about this election since 2016.

Yes, I was kidding. I didn't know that you guys had already started. xD

I say we start a drinking game about the election. Anyone in?

-Every time a candidate uses the words 'progressive values' to describe their positions, take a drink. Take two drinks if it's a moderate referring to themselves as a progressive.

-Every time a candidate refers to trump as "unhinged" or any similar term, take a drink.

-Every time one of them refers to themselves as the only candidate who can defeat trump, take two drinks.

-However unlikely, if any candidate uses something like "because it's 2019/2020" as an answer for why they support any given policy, take three drinks.

-Every time a candidate refers to Russian trolls or Putin, take three drinks.

-If a candidate uses any sort of pejorative (i.e. "deplorables") to refer to Trump voters, take a drink.

-If a candidate says "it's time for us to heal the divide in America" or "time to end the polarization" or anything similar, take a drink.

-If a candidate references Scandinavia as an example they want to follow, take a drink.

-If a white male candidate talks about how they've spent their career working to improve conditions for minority demographics, take a drink.

-If Biden or any other white candidate talks about a black person they used work with, take two drinks. Take a third drink if they interject the words "dear friend" in reference to the black person they want everyone to know they know.

-Every time tulsi brings up her military service, take a drink.

-every time tulsi says "aloha" to a crowd, take a drink.

-every time a candidate tries to work in a reference to current popular culture (i.e. "pokemon go to the polls"), take two drinks.

-everytime Biden or any White candidate tries to appear hip to black voters by referring to carrying around hot sauce or some other stereotypical behavior, take two drinks.

-if a candidate prefaces their positions on gun control with "look, no one's coming to take your guns away", take a drink. If they follow that up with an anecdote about how they used to hunt with their daddy, add an extra drink. If they are featured in a photo op awkwardly participating in some sport involving guns, take two drinks.

-every time a candidate refers to Barack Obama's vision and/or tries to tout themselves as the true heir to Obama, take a drink.

-if Biden refers to some woman in a vaguely lecherous manner, take three drinks.

-if Biden refers to a younger candidate as "kid", "whippersnapper", "youngin'", "Padawan learner", "junior", "little guy", "little missy", et al, take a drink.

-if Sanders begins a sentence with "it is my belief that...", take a drink.

-if Sanders talks about growing up in "the brawnks", take a drink.

-if Tulsi or anyone else expresses their sincere apologies for past views or policies, take two drinks.

-if Warren does that thing where she makes her voice sound like a sweet grandmother, take a drink.

-if warren does the concerned guidance counselor voice, take a drink.

-if Warren refers to her ancestry, take three drinks.

-if any candidate changes their accent based on the town they're currently stumping in, take three drinks. If it's a white person trying to "sound black", take an extra drink.

-If they dodge questions about draft registration and/or victims of war by responding how women are the true or primary victims of war, take 3 drinks.

-I’m tempted to say take a drink any time Biden makes an unintentionally awkward gaffe, but I think we’ll all be dead from alcohol poisoning by the time this thing is over.

I'll think of some more later.

Drop out isn't really the news, but "hairy legs" are. That one will really shake thing up if the media decide to make a scandal.

Thank you for heeding my advice, Senator Harris. I knew you were going to quit before you did.

I'm hoping Bloomberg wises up and quits. I know it must be boring being a billionaire, but people just don't like you dude. He actually advocated a regressive tax on the poor because poor people drink too much soda and if you take money from the poor, they'll be less likely to buy soda. What a jerk.

One other issue is I think the CA primary ballots are mailed in early Feb. so it would be problematic if she ended up on them. Then her own reelection for 2022, she might want to keep the funds she's raised for that.
