Hello.
I have been frequenting MBTI sites for a few years now and spent admittedly way too much time trying to determine my type. It seems I have difficulty being objective when it comes to myself.
Your evaluation and input would be extremely appreciated.
*My apology in advance for the "life story"; I simply want to provide as much information as possible to help you help me figure out my type!*

Interests & Hobbies
As a child (ages 9 - 12):
- Collecting rocks
- Catching and keeping caterpillars
- Composing "songs" (more like short, melodic pieces) on my keyboard
- Playing flute in band
- Reading the dictionary
- Reading the phone book
- Reading the Kaiser Healthwise Handbook and learning the symptoms of diseases
- Coming up with business ideas
- Playing Nintendo (Zelda, Kickle Cubicle, Little Nemo, Super Mario, etc.)
- Digging up my front yard for dinosaur bones and rocks
- Listening to music (pop and R&B)
- Drawing
- Computer keyboarding (ex., Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing)
- Reading non-fiction
- Rollerblading around my neighborhood
- Collecting coins
- Coming up with ideas for inventions
As a teenager (ages 13 - 18):
- Learning HTML
- Devising and carrying out my plan to become an emancipated minor (which I successfully accomplished at age 16)
- Composing music on my keyboard and computer
- Taking vocal lessons and practicing singing
- Increasing career experience (receptionist to secretary to administrative assistant) / building my resume
- Writing song lyrics
- Listening to music (alternative, female songwriters, new age)
- Coming up with internet business ideas, building websites and earning affiliate commissions through them
- Finishing high school early through independent study
- Obtaining my A.A. degree
- Researching religion and questioning the one in which I was raised
As the young adult that I am (age 24):
- Personality typing (that's obvious!)
- Self-improvement
- Fish-keeping
- My kitties
- Personal color theory (ex., "Color Me Beautiful -- and just like my MBTI type, I still don't know if I'm a "summer" or "winter"!)
- Investigating careers and determining the most appropriate career for me
- Earning my B.A. degree (but in God knows what?!)
- Listening to music (female songwriters, reggae, new age, 80's, etc. - almost everything!)
- Coming up with at-home business ideas and ideas for non-profit organizations
- Learning the basics of many foreign languages
- Continued on original career path; still working in administrative/secretarial positions.
Personal Characteristics
Both as a child and teenager:
- Had only a couple best friends; stuck to a small group at school
- Respectful of authority
- Responsible (oldest of 3 children in neglectful/abusive, single-parent home)
- Avoided causing disharmony
- Argued with mother, despite the consequences, only when she was being completely unreasonable and irrational
- Sensitive to teachers' approval of me
- Procrastinated on homework assignments
- "Goody-two-shoes" with regard to doing anything that might get me in trouble
- Very disorganized (first report card and nearly all subsequent report cards had comments such as "[her] desk is always disorganized".
- Generally true to moral convictions (went against the actions of my peers)
- Held my pencil "incorrectly" (still do!)
- Quiet, shy and reserved with people I didn't know (as I got older I became VERY outgoing WITHIN the small group of friends I had)
- Always recognized inconsistencies and flawed logic of mother's thinking
- Aware of cause-and-effect relationship between parent's irresponsible actions (alcohol abuse, over-spending, etc.) and outcomes
As the young adult that I am:
- Easily inspired, yet easily disinterested -- a new career idea, concept for living or social concern has proven time and time again to quickly and completely take over me only to be abandoned with disregard soon thereafter.
- Still disorganized (though I'm now actively trying to implement techniques I've read about) and late for everything
- No real friendships (since entering long-term romantic relationships in my mid-teens); though I'm outgoing and sociable with people at my work while at work.
- Still a "goody-two-shoes"; considered a "stiff" when it comes to things like recreational drugs and pornography.
- Much more assertive than in my youth
- Very keen on spotting errors and inconsistencies (with written work, such as typos, and in arguments)
Well, if you made it this far, thank you very much for sharing your time with me. I look forward to any and all responses!
