I've taken mbti for a while now and essentially have gotten every introverted type under the sun, but also estj and entp as well from time to time (albeit not often). Whenever I take a test, the type I get most often is INTJ which I don't think I am because I absolutely do not identify with Se in any manner. From there the second types I get most is a mix of INFJ/IxTP/ISTJ and the rest. Personally from my own assessment of cognitive functions, I believe I use Te, Ti, Ne, maybe Fe, and some Si. If I had to prioritise them, it would be Si > Te/Ti > Ne > Fe. Now I've made typing threads before, no one seems to agree what type I am. On one forum it's ISTJ, another it's INTP, another it's ISFP, INFJ, or whatever, and all forums have convincing arguments and while they do sound convincing, it doesn't add up with my assessment of my functions in addition to test results I get such as this. Also with ISTJ, INTP, INTJ (the three types I'm most suggested as), neither of them in particular "click" with me like I think a true fitting type would. I'm also 5w4 enneagram (I think) if that helps.
I'll answer some questions:
Seg 2
1. What is beauty? What is love?
This is perhaps the only question I've run across that truly annoys me. I can give you a very generic and emotive answer such as 'love is an inexplicable moment you feel when your soulmate crosses your way--no--heart, that is a crime to be explained in words' but in my mind all I'm thinking is why does this matter?. It's perhaps one of the most subjective subjects in the world and it's sooooooo inconsistent where it just makes me want to frown thinking about coming up with details of answering this question seriously.
2. What are your most important values?
none. they're all up in the pawn shop, and I'll trade it in for something of equivalent or better exchange
3. Do you have any sort of spiritual/religious beliefs, and why do you hold (or don't) those beliefs in the first place?
similar answer to #1, I can't get myself to care about such irrelevant details as spirituality and religion are insignificant to me
4. Opinion on war and militaries? What is power to you?
war is expected, militarities are nothing more than the government's pawns and don't deserve anymore respect than, say, a fireman or police officer does. Power is having influence, whether that be socially or financially, which I think the latter is more powerful than the former.
5. What have you had long conversations about? What are your interests? Why?
Goals of other people and myself. I'm very interested in linguistics, genealogy, anthropology, etc. I'm a self-procclaimed xenophile
6. Interested in health/medicine as a conversation topic? Are you focused on your body?
heh, not really. yes but not actively focused on it like I should be
7. What do you think of daily chores?
Helps keep things consistent, particularly a house being clean. No need to do monthly cleanings when you can do it gradually every day or other day.
8. Books or films you liked? Recently read/watched or otherwise. Examples welcome.
It's been some years since I've read some books unfortunately, and I'm not a film person at all.
9. What has made you cry? What has made you smile? Why?
It's hard to say what makes me cry as I tear up at the most random things...but a correlation I noticed is that I start to cry when I hyperventilate about something, and it could be something as random as reading about egyptian arabic dialect and I can find it so fascinating and this wave of energy just passes over me and I can cry at times because of it. not sob, just tear up. I smile randomly also, generally associated with something I find interesting or funny
10. Where do you feel: at one with the environment/a sense of belonging?
I'm not attached to my environment, and I like it to stay that way. I don't necessarily like to observe it, but I want to be able to pick what I please from the environment from a distance, which is not something I can do if I'm immersed in it.
11. What have people seen as your weaknesses? What do you dislike about yourself?
I'm prone to being very lazy and unmotivated and lack of details. I don't dislike anything about myself
12. What have people seen as your strengths? What do you like about yourself?
Very knowledgable about a lot of random things, people tell me, in addition to having a deep understanding to things albeit I can't explain them very well verbally. I don't particularly have any traits I value that I 'like' but I appreciate some things like my intense curiosity.
13. In what areas of your life would you like help?
MOTIVATION. I can get so lazy at times. I'd also like to be a lot more hard working than I am now
14. Ever feel stuck in a rut? If yes, describe the causes and your reaction to it.
I avoid them like the plague, and have never been in one in particular
15. What qualities do you most like and dislike in other people? What types do you get along with?
i like people who have very niche interests, essentially another anorak like myself, and I tend to like really wacky but energetic people as well, something polar opposite of me. I don't pay attention to types I get along with honestly but one of the best people I've met is an INFP and I treasure her dearly. I've also gotten along very well with INFPs and have never had a bad interaction with one, something I can't say for the plethora of INTJs, INTPs, INFJs, ExTJs I've met both irl and online.
16. How do you feel about romance/sex? What qualities do you want in a partner?
sex: Something biological that the human body craves
romance: something biological that the human mind seeks, although I don't think monogamy is very fulfilling.
Qualities I want in a partner:
- anorak like myself
- very kind and caring and accommodating to people's feelings
- listens to reason, can weigh both emotions and logic and efficacy when needed
- loves me more than I love him
- very skilled in something in particular
- has to have a great sense of humour and can make me laugh. laughter makes me feel great
- i don't want someone who's competing with me for dominance so, while I don't want him to be entirely submissive, he needs to at least be yearning for something from me, like my affection to keep him from challenging me completely
17. If you were to raise a child, what would be your main concerns, what measures would you take, and why?
This is something I think about very often (what I want to have my children do). My main concern is having children who don't learn to listen to reason and are explicitly emotive and require lots of attention from others. I can accommodate, but it would be very displeasing to me on the inside. I think I'm fairly flexible with juggling emotive and logical sides of things but the former is something I'm not naturally good at and I can see at times being overwhelming or ineffective to what needs to get done. I want my kids to be very equipped for the future, being polyglots, well-educated by private tutors, being very cultured but also independent, and I'm in the works now of thinking of how to execute that plan, and along the way I'm willing to circumvent their feelings to get it done as I feel this would benefit them in the long run. I don't intend on ignoring their feelings completely or even mostly, but it will definitely have to give way at certain points of their lives.
18. A friend makes a claim that clashes with your current beliefs. What is your inward and outward reaction?
If I had the energy, I'd ask him why he thinks that way and if he can explain why he sees such, I will take it as is and nothing more. I don't like debating with people per se to have them come over 'to my side', but to acknowledge another perspective/and or see the way they think about things. Inwardly I would be like "oh?" and outwardly I would have the face of someone who's thinking 'hmm'
19. Describe your relationship to society. How do you see people as a whole? What do you consider a prevalent social problem? Name one.
and i thought this would be the last question that annoyed me to answer. I could give you something in depth but the truth is...I don't really care about this stuff. at all. whatever I would write would be so superficial to the point where I'd even think someone else wrote it.
20. How do you choose your friends and how do you behave around them?
I choose my mates based off of my impression of them in addition to how I interact with them. I'm very perceptive of people and am able to get a good taste of their personality within a few observations of them, and I've never been let down by it. My mates often tell me that they're surprised I have such a sharp dry sense of humour and am very sarcastic as on the surface I'm extremely polite and proper to everyone.
21. How do you behave around strangers?
I mind my own business unless I'm really just that bored.
third questionnaire
I'll answer some questions:
1) What aspect of your personality made you unsure of your type?
Read the explanation above.
2) What do you yearn for in life? Why?
Stability first and foremost (money), so I'm able to do as I please. I'm very interested in not being tied down to the typical 9-5 job and being able to explore my interests as I see fit.
3) Think about a time where you felt like you were at your finest. Tell us what made you feel that way.
Can't think of any...I'm generally a very mellow person but I feel 'best' as in proud of myself when I achieve something that I've been plotting and desiring.
4) What makes you feel inferior?
Not getting the results I seek for my plans
5) What tends to weigh on your decisions? (Do you think about people, pro-cons, how you feel about it, etc.)
It depends. If the situation involves people I will consider their feelings as I want to beat around the bush of hurting their feelings/disappointing them (if it will sour my connections with them as I might need them in the future) as much as possible. If they're irrelevant to the situation though then they're excluded without a second thought. Generally I weigh pros and cons, but the pros also include what those benefits mean to me and my life as well. If it doesn't apply or really better me that much then I'm not very enthused on doing it.
6) When working on a project what is normally your emphasis? Do you like to have control of the outcome?
Getting the bloody thing done. I don't like having control over the outcome, I manage it. In school projects I always did the entire thing myself as I loathed working with slobs who didn't care about their marks and micromanaging their incompetence (good lord I sound like such a posh snob right now). In a hypothetical situation where I had competent partners, I would still like to have the control over the outcome but would be willing to work with others if they proposed a seemingly better idea to produce the same effective result that I thought of or supported that another member thought of.
7) Describe a time where you had a lot of fun. How is your memory of it?
No particular memory sticks out. Again I'm a very mellow guy, I don't get on highs of euphoria nor depression it's very levelled.
8) When you want to learn something new, what feels more natural for you?
Read about it until I get bored of it. However things have to add up in my head like a sequence. The tiniest thing in the flow of logic that does not fit I will go on an escapade to find out why it is the way it is in order to have the logic continue to flow.
9) How organized do you think of yourself as?
Organised to convenience. I like stuff in a place where I know it is for easier access in addition to my room being clean--particularly my bed made every day--for aesthetics as it's more calming. Mess unsettles me.
10) How do you judge new ideas? You try to understand the principles behind it to see if they make sense or do you look for information that supports it?
If it does not enthuse me then I will probably be apathetic about it, but I will look at its merits and pitfalls to see what exactly it is and how it can be applied. I think how a principle is applied is also very important as opposed to silly philosophical jargons that don't mean anything.
11. You are with a group of people in a car, heading to a different town to see your favourite band/artist/musician. Suddenly, the car breaks down for an unknown reason in the middle of nowhere. What are your initial thoughts? What are your outward reactions?
Initial thoughts: fuck, fuck, and fuck
Outward reaction: will try to get an understanding of the situation (what's wrong with the car) and try my best to help get it fixed
12. You somehow make it to the concert. The driver wants to go to the afterparty that was announced (and assure you they won't drink so they can drive back later). How do you feel about this party? What do you do?
I don't drink, I don't dance, I don't smoke. Maybe I'd attempt to dance, but that's about it. I'd be very sceptical of the driver not drinking as many people can't resist the booze. The party itself I'd be virtually detached to as I'm not a party person. I'd probably walk around the premises, outside, or play on my phone.
13. On the drive back, your friends are talking. A friend makes a claim that clashes with your current beliefs. What is your inward reaction? What do you outwardly say?
Depends on what it is, who the person is and how well I know them, and how tired I am. Even if I believe strongly in something, it takes a lot of my energy to argue with people and if I know the person has a track record for being very loud/and or snarky in the argument then I don't see it being worth exerting my views onto the person as it would take more of my energyto navigate through an aggressive/and or hostile encounter. I like arguing in civil conditions but if I'm unsure of how the person will react/and or cannot get a read of the person then I will quietly sit out and let him talk.
14. What would you do if you actually saw/experienced something that clashes with your previous beliefs, experiences, and habits?
Depends. If it's something purely moral then I'd have the same thought process as above, but if it involves something physical e.g the (physical) harassment of someone or myself then I'd try my best to dismantle it depending on the circumstances.
15. What are some of your most important values? How did you come about determining them? How can they change?
I really don't have any concrete individual values as they're always flexible and up for debate. It's more of a collectivity of them which is still flexible, but they're too many to name here.
16. a) What about your personality most distinguishes you from everyone else? b) If you could change one thing about you personality, what would it be? Why?
I'll stick with 5 items:
1) I'm stoic more often than not can don't get worked up too often
2) I have an excellent memory; I can memorise things I did, said, and how I felt when I did them from when I was a child
3) I'm very curious and I like to break things apart to see what really lies underneath; this is both figurative and literal as a toddler I did break a fair amount of the gadgets from my parents for the hell of it.
4) I'm polite to the point where people say I'm saccharine or "too sweet", but this has never been a negative when talking to people
5) Although I'm not very empathetic, I have great intuition when it comes to people and can easily get the gist of their personality within very few instances of observation.
One thing I wish I could change about my personality: I wish I wouldn't look back on past events so much.
17. How do you treat hunches or gut feelings? In what situations are they most often triggered?
The only gut feelings I trust is when I'm analysing people, otherwise my hunches typically clash when I try to rationalise them. If I do not understand where it comes from or how effective it is I become sceptical and weary of trusting it. And the irony is that often my hunches are correct and my non-intuitive analyisation is wrong. There's not a particular instance where it's triggered, and it happens once every blue moon.
18. a) What activities energize you most? b) What activities drain you most? Why?
a) I really love learning about new facts. It excites me to learn more about my environment and all the possible things out there that I can now explore now that I'm aware of its existence.
b) Group work is very draining. I've never been in a group activity where there were other people who were willing to put in the effort, and above all else I found it to be not only draining but almost exasperating how I had to micromanage people of sorts and tell them what to do, how to do it, and the like because of their lack of interest. When I'm in group projects I typically take on the entire frontload from the get go and tell the other parents not to participate as I find in every case I've experienced that they will not produce high quality work like I will. Hopefully I will be in a group that will change this perspective.
19. What do you repress about your outward behavior or internal thought process when around others? Why?
I almost always repress my political and moral beliefs as they're very...controversial to say the least and like I explained in an answer above, I do not see it as being worth it to constantly fight against the wave of my social environment to exert beliefs that I'm well aware will not be accepted. This does not mean I pretend to have beliefs of the status quo to fit in, I will simply keep my thoughts to myself unless I come across a person I feel can handle them, which is often not the case. Internally I repress nothing as there's no need to when only me, myself, and I know about it. Those cheeky little bastards may be sly but they won't tell a soul
20. What makes you dislike the personalities of some people?
I have perverse personalities that seek to break order and fuck up the peace. It's not done out of innovation or curiosity, just for shits and giggles without the consideration of its after effects which I severely dislike.
Read the explanation above.
2) What do you yearn for in life? Why?
Stability first and foremost (money), so I'm able to do as I please. I'm very interested in not being tied down to the typical 9-5 job and being able to explore my interests as I see fit.

1. During your youth (7'ish to 18), What did you focus on the most? What activities did you like and why? What aspect of life was lax in attention?
7~13 I'd say I was very apathetic and really sulked in my emotions. I didn't fit in well with people as I was very reserved and lacked any motivation to do anything in school so I didn't make good marks and did a lot of nothing to say the least. When I found something to be motivated by when I was about 15~18+ I became a lot more motivated by my marks and had laser focus on it. Besides that now I like linguistics, anthropology, and to a lesser extent learning about genetics. I'm pretty much an anorak as I like learning about new facts of different subjects.
2. You're in you senior year of high school (or whatever equivalent) and you are looking back over the last couple of years. What was your favorite aspect of the schooling experience and why? Favorite subject and why?
The best part was showing off in classes I excelled in, like my maths and English. It was a pleasant feeling being able to understand things relatively quickly and not needing the teacher to hog you like they do the other students in addition to getting good marks. Favourte subjects would include history, maths, and English (sans writing, wasn't a fan of that). Other than that school was a waste of my time, honestly.
3. A couple of friends call and invite you out to a restaurant. While there, you all are pleasantly conversing and one of your friends makes a comment that irked you. What are you're thoughts and how do you respond?
I'd question him depending on two things: a) if I'm curious why he said that or b) if it annoyed me that much. Generally neither happen much for the following explained reasons: a) I can generally tell why people say certain things when taking into account their personality, and b) if I'm eating, I want to be relaxed, and I don't want to unsettle my environment over a frivolous comment so I'll ignore like I would in almost any case unless the comment was that interesting.
4. Your schooling is done and it's time to strike out into the world!! What sort of career do you want to go into and why?
I want to be an ESL teacher so I can travel and transition into being a translator/interpreter of some sorts. I want to travel the world and being any of the three affords me the opportunity to do so while making money, something that almost no other career can do in almost every part of the world. I'm also interested in languages but I'm also very intrigued by how this job does not tie me down to one place.
5. A friend is getting married and they put you in charge of the cake. You narrowed it down to two places to make an order. The first is a bakery with whom you got a good relationship with. The other is a well-known cake maker to whom everyone goes to (your friend hints to it as well). Which one do you choose and why?
I'm the type of person who likes surprises and to try new things often but most people I encounter don't, so if my mate wasn't one of those people I'd just go to the bakery that my mate is familiar with. So at the very least if I get him a cake from there I can use the excuse "well everyone likes that bakery, even you!"
If he was like I was and truly trusted my odd tastes, I'd get him something at the bakery I'm acquainted with. Getting him the cake here would mean a lot more to me, personally as it allows me to truly express the openness of our relationship as opposed to going with cliche standards.
6. You get into an argument with a friend/family member/co-worker. They criticize one of your personality traits. What would most likely be the focus of their critique?
I'd ask them why they say that, and depending on whether or not it's actually true I'll take it into account, asking myself "is this something I'd actually do?" and referencing the patterns of my actions and also past experiences. I'd ask them out of curiosity as opposed to anger/irritation most of the time unless it was really off the wall.
7. It's New Years! You and your friends are out and about after a party. Being drunk, one of your friends suggests to do something....'questionable' (Nothing serious. I.e, drugs, escort, etc.). What are your thoughts and how do you respond?
well first, I wouldn't be drunk as I don't drink, but I'll entertain this game of charades and pretend in some alternative universe that I willingly drank some mythical version of alcohol that didn't taste like rubbing alcohol and got drunk off of it. Unless I was totally drunk (which I don't know what that feels like), I'd probably say no to whatever it was, presuming it's something sexual like a bj or whatever.
8. A new art gallery opens up and your friend wants to go to the grand opening. Both of you analyze all the paintings and sculptures. What about these works warrants the most attention from you? Why?
I'd take a quick look at it and move on very quickly unless there was something that caught my eye. It can be nicely painted/sculpted sure but something has to really stick out to me, whether it be intricate or blatant.
9. You have been saving up and decide to buy a new car. At the dealership, you peruse the lots. What are the criteria and factors that influence your choice? Which one would initially be your main focus?
how old the car is, its pitfalls after getting it inspected before I buy it, how well it works, how well it will last. The look of the car is somewhat important but in general I can't be assed to care if it's a "nice" looking car by modern standards so I'm fine with getting some raggedy looking van if it works.
10. Where would you like to see yourself in five years? Why?
Out of uni, teaching ESL in whatever country I pick, then transitioning into a translator and learning how to invest along the way
