Haha, yes -- so you know the Dreamscarred Press stuff. I had generated a template for it in Hero's Lab based of a regular lich, with all the typical stat boosts, resistances, Nat Armor increase, and special attacks like Fear aura and paralyzing touch and so on.... Later when the GM said I could, I switched into Mythic Lich mode and things got really crazy....
Note I did not plan to become a lich when I created my character. We started at level 6, and I thought the Cryptic sounded interesting... kind of a ranged psychic rogue. Well, early on in the two-year campaign, we started having to deal with soulstones, and she was fascinated by how they worked and learned how to use them (I bumped her UMD with anything I could find)... until she was capturing and dominating souls... and after a few more cryptic levels, I decided to switch to thrallherd which the GM let me do by using "equivalent" type prereqs.
In the course of campaigning, we met a divine lich, and she thought this was really cool except for having to be at the mercy of a god. But she also knew how to make soulstones at this point, so she decided to pull together everything she knew and imprison her own soul in a soulstone/phylactery which she originally replaced her heart with in her own chest as her cult of thralls were carrying out this huge ritual in the library temple she had built for herself. If she ever died, her thrall was supposed to grab it and whatever else and high-tail it until she could recorporate. Eventually she figured out how to stash it somewhere else and devised her own pocket dimension where she hid it someplace unexpected.
She started True Neutral but kept doing evil things until the GM said, "Uh, please adjust your alignment." Every so often she would have a crisis of conscience and bump out for a brief time, but slowly drift back into evil. It was a running joke among the party. "Q: How can you tell when Sumiko is lying?" "A: Her mouth is moving."
This was the only psionic character I officially played, but I also had to make some thralls of different classes so I did learn somewhat about the other classes. (My thrall for a long time was a Dread.)
my favorite character was a true evil true necromancer... he qualified for the prc using urpriest and used the shadow weave (forgetten realms)... he hated the gods and his ultimate goal was to kill mystra (the goddess of magic)... of course he never managed to do so... he portrayed himself as neutral good when in town, but he had a long memory and came back after several levels to kill npc's that disrespected him or actively opposed his goals... this was all done stealthily using magic to protect against divination... fortunately the rest of the party never turned on him, but unfortunately that meant the third of his prepared spells kept to kill them were squandered...i took him from level five to level sixty-four... he leveled quickly because the dm was inexperienced; the dm used high cr monsters ineffectively trying to "thwart" me... he once placed a mithral golem (cr 21) in a large chamber to stop us from entering a treasure room that was protected from planar magic (such as teleportation)... we were level 14ish... the look on his face when i used spider climb (followed by move earth) on the party to bypass it was priceless... i love using low level spells to circumvent high cr challenges...
haha, that's hilarious. Yeah, poor GM... sounds like he thought too linearly. Our GM is actually a game-breaker when he runs characters, so he knows how to deal with gamebreaker PCs. His NPCs scaled with us and we still lost party members even when we were mythic 6, regular 16 in level or so. But the higher ends of the game can definitely get broken. There are certain powers in the Psionic books (oh, Psychic Reformation?) that if you have the ability to just burn points, and the right setup of feats (where you can grab powers outside your class), you can be feat swapping and power swapping all day long. Between all the soulstones I had + the ability to swap in powers in a short time, despite just being a cryptic, I could do nearly anything I wanted. It's simply I only could get up to Level 6 powers, since I wasn't a full-fledged Psionic caster.
