Seems like they should have made it before HotD. And Henry Cavill should absolutely get the role. But for anyone wanting less incest, this is really not the story for you.

I'd also like to see different houses being showcased.

You know, during season 8, I was constantly wondering what happened to Mord the jailer. He was my favorite. I was haunted by him saying "No gold!", and was kept awake at night wondering about possible deeper meanings.

They might have screwed up later seasons, but they did do this right.

ROISIN, nooo! If he brings a crossbow into the bedroom, run girl!

seriously though, Gleeson seems like a decent guy. He and Ted Levine and others deserve kudos for being willing to play the worst of the worst in these types of stories.

That moustache makes it hard for me to see it's him (maybe that was the point). He looks like he's in some sitcom called Young Murderface.

Personally Ive always found Littlefinger hard to hate. Though I do tend to prefer Varys, but Littlefinger was no slouch in the game of intelligence gathering either.

I didn't like how the show made Littlefinger the "bad" one and Varys the "good" one. We know from the epilogue to book five this isn't the case; he's willing to kill people for no other reason than the fact that they get in the way of his plans. But I would still argue that Varys is preferable with the information I have; Littlefinger ultimately started the war with that whole dagger business and conspiring with Lysa to poison Jon Arryn.

I think ultimately Varys was willing to die if necessary to serve the realm, where Littlefinger's priority was ultimately himself?

IMO, re GoT (sorry, I can't find the thread, and GoT still makes me SO angry): the crowning point of no return for me was when Daenerys killed Varys. When Varys teamed up with her, he promised (something like) he'd never stab her in the back without at least trying to reach her directly first. That was very much consistent with his character, and it was actually a pretty great moment because it seemed like he'd found someone worthy of his counsel. His character had an idealistic streak (just like Dinklage's character, which is why their friendship was so endearing), and it was like he justified his own shitty decisions by reasoning he didn't have much choice because whoever was in charge was even shittier - and part of him was sad and disappointed about it. So anyway, it was wholly believable he'd finally found someone he wouldn't have to backstab - the few glorious redeeming moments in GoT were far and few between, so they were important. But when the time came? He didn't even TRY to go to Daenerys directly. He dove headfirst into the impulsive backstab, which kinda erased the best parts of his character. And Dinklage was all "whelp, what-are-you-gonna-do? 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️" as Daenerys burned his friend alive.

That whole last season was truly just phenomenally so badly written.

For me the thing I hated the most about the last season or two was that everyone became an idiot (although I think that was maybe a gradual process over the years from Season 5 and onwards), except for Cersei, who became a genius, because that was the only way they could think of to move the plot along. Varys suffers from this as well, of course. Because of this the plotlines rarely made sense.

Also, I hate what the show did to Euron Greyjoy. They made him horny instead of scary. And why does he look up at the camera and say "I'm the man who killed Jaimie Lannister!", when that isn't even true? It was so cringe. Technically speaking, you could attribute that to Danerys, IIRC.

It's hard for dumb (or non-invested) writers to write characters smarter than themselves.

Yeah, i never read the books but Euron basically seemed to be sloppily written to be this guy hopped up on bath salts -- not really scary, just crazy laughable:
