The meth thing is true but there's a well-documented record of many of them being into paganism. Haven't heard about the homeopathy before, though.
From what I can remember the nazis looked into homeopathy because they were after "German" medicine as an alternative to degenerated "Jewish" medicine. There was an investigative commission or something but that came to the conclusion that sadly homeopathy was bogus. Too much so even for them.

Does anyone know how to find information about a "news" website, like who started it or who funds it? I'm trying to find out anything about Reclaim The Net dot org. All I've found is a small "wikispooks" page which doesn't say anything useful: they're "against big tech", but also "protecting free speech." The latter implies (imo) conflating government with corporations, so it reeks of propaganda.

A quick view of their Twitter TL shows cranks like Maajid Nawaz, Tamara Lich and crypto chuds. So I would say a good guess would be the Uihleins as they also fund the Federalist, The Daily Caller, American Renaissance - pretty much all the shit conservatives cockroaches consume. You can always look at DonorTrust and Donors Capital Fund too and SourceWatch https://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=SourceWatch

Yeah, their Twitter feed is why I put scare quotes around "news." I made instant assumptions about who was funding it and want to check on the assumptions.

I feel really sick about how people I care about are falling for it. My regard for Christianity has hit an all time low, since something about that environment is making people especially susceptible. <insert something about "priming people to submit to unquestioning obeisance" here> There aren't enough people practicing it in a healthy way, in a way that embodies the genuinely virtuous aspects. But this is a bit off topic. It just makes me so sad.

Here’s the latest Qanon explanation of Putin invading Ukraine. My head hurts …

This is just so sad.

We need for comedians to stop making fun of these people (or for it to happen less), and more earnest journalists out there respectfully asking questions that never occurred to these people. (Like "Who exactly is 'the deep state'?" With follow-up questions.) So far I've not seen a single actual journalist doing this; only comedians are "interviewing" these people.

Not to mention the elephants in the room: Putin and Xi have their own private deep states.

So is Q actually a nihilist that wants to see just how stupid people can actually be?

The thing is, the guy that coined the term wrote a book on the subject. It never even applied to anything in the USG although I've never really understood why liberals and conservatives both worship cops, the FBI, the goddamn CIA... that's simply insane to me.

It would also be fine with me if every smug ass lib comedian in the street showing how fucking stupid Americans are just....stopped. It was never funny. The only one getting a pass at all is John Oliver - he actually addresses topics rarely discussed, certainly not by media of any kind.

That almost makes them look cool, what isn't really the case.
They are more likely to be people that simply have evident deficit in genuine education. Plus they suffer in their own echo chambers where professional trolls play with them 24/7.

Or maybe just a cautionary tale about mixing cocaine and LSD?

eta: That tweet claims that specific batshit theory is the work of Tucker Carlson. So I'm going with cocaine mixed with profound deep-seated hatred and unbearable emotional pain that's been buried so deep that having over three million followers doesn't begin to fill the hole that he's nothing more than a puppet to.

Also it's been too long since Tucker Carlson got to express his diaper fetish, so he's extra grumpy and not seeing straight. Also cocaine, I could see that.

Someone has to explain to these people that Ukraine was the brain of USSR and therefore they have various labs. Every at least somewhat normal country has labs, that are btw vital for scientific and medical working of the country (which can be used for all kinds of things). Only a person without any kind of scientific knowledge would make a big deal out of the labs by default. Since it lack the capacity to understand how much labs are normal in 21th century. Therefore since the west wants that democratization of the country is a successes of course there will be some overlap in this area. This is the country with it's own nuclear reactors, of course that it has labs that are half secret.

Well the FBI and the CIA are seen as apolitical professionals who Care About The Country.

That has absolutely nothing to do with actual history, but that's what people seem to believe. For instance consider all the horror at the way James Comey was treated by liberals even after handing Trump the election. I actually find it pretty hilarious; the guy found himself in that situation by making an idiotic judgement call and doing something incredibly stupid. At best he's an idiot and not a wise professional who deserves our utmost respect.

There's just so much valorization of dumb shit and people who keep on fucking up and producing negative outcomes just because the other side doesn't like them. I hate it.

Smantha Bee and Oliver have done some hard hitting journalistic bits on occasion, but overall I find that whole smug late night personality doubling as activist comedian schtick from these people tiring and so 2013--they almost always go for the lowest hanging fruit (Crowder is guilty of doing the same with his "tell me I'm wrong" schtick where he goes on college campuses and finds the most airheaded possible liberal students to interview); and of course if the persons do have anything intelligent to say, they're likely being edited down to look as dumb or clueless as possible.

I like how Bee talked about cop field drug test kits and how they are frequently inaccurate and yet continue to be used as another means to bust poor people and keep the private prison pipeline flowing. this is something I have not heard enough democratic establishment talking about (usually if I see or hear anyone talking about this problem, it's coming from demsocialists, left, or those supposed nazi libertarians who supposedly support police state brutality, or the Kochs of all people) and why I don't put much stock in cops like Biden or Kamala when they give lip service to BLM and anti-police misconduct activists. Anyway, more of those types of stories where it's actually informative but with a comedic twist and I might watch those late night people more often. Except for Kimmel. The guy has never been funny and he seems like a classic example of someone failing their way to the top.

2013? I lost interest in it once Bush was no longer in office. Actually before then, I remember some of the jokes about the 2008 general election were kind of annoying and smug, like the "I can see Russia from my house" thing. Turns out it was kind of the liberal version of the "lol Al Gore said he invented the internet" type thing. I don't exactly like her but it bugs me when people do this kind of shit in general. A more recent example of the kind of smug political humor I hate is the covfefe thing; yes, I'm sure you have to be a real moron to make a typo on social media. It doesn't make the person they were making fun of look bad, it makes them look like the smug elitist prick they claim you are.

It seemed at its best during the height of the war in terror, honestly.
