That you have to ask means you support those who are responsible for it.
Ah, so you agree that there is nothing that could have been done.
Yeah, that must definitely be it.
Right, but Americans don't care about what people in Europe do, on the whole. You're assuming that if people take the time to explain why it isn't socialism, they will suddenly get on board. I've seen people do that for a long time and not find much traction. People called Biden a socialist. Do you think if Bernie had taken the time to explain that he was really asking for social democracy (which is an end goal I would be fine with) that would have made a difference? You're assuming everyone is rational like you. You can't do that with politics.
The benefit of not running from "socialism" is that you get to spend more time talking about your vision and less time engaging in pointless arguments about semantics and definitions. Which I love as an INTP, but most people don't care about such things.
That you have to ask means you support those who are responsible for it. Honestly, I'm just tired of the populist bullshit. Left and Right.
Too bad Obama didn't bail out the homeowners, then it probably wouldn't be something you had to deal with.
Actually I do. Evidently not everyone will want to hear that but a fair share will listen if you are good at resenting. I am sorry but I am simply getting the impression that no one really tried to discuss the details and tell people the whole story. This is exactly why US has so low trust in politics, since the ideas are not closed whole and they are just some talking points thrown on a pile. Therefore it is unsurprising that life kinda turned into that as well. Since just about nothing fully is warped and closed. For this you don't even need official media as simple regular podcast will do it, at least in the start. I mean just take a look at Trump, he is worshiped simply because he is talking to people (it doesn't even matter that he makes now sense half of the time). However there is evidently a thirst for content. He basically become president on the line "I will not outsource your jobs". While the other side simply didn't mange to offer more than this simple claim. So imagine where you could go with serious talk about the problems. Not everyone will come to you on the day one but this is process that takes time. There are so many irrational people around exactly since almost no one is really trying to project rational and round up ideas anymore. What means that not doing it is kinda self fulfilling prophecy. Since this is the landscape you get when you avoid detailed complex explanations as if that is something bad or a waste of time.
Let's just bail out the whole fucking world. Peace. Love. Dope. Any other shit you want to focus on from the past, put it in a memo.
Well they bailed out your pals on Wall Street and you didn't object then.
It's a perfect recipe for social instability when everyone becomes aware that the system is weighted against them.
Trump Won Florida After Running a False Ad Tying Biden to Venezuelan Socialists
What in your opinion do you think Biden could have done to avoid this label?
IMO, I do not think there is anything he could done. He could have adopted all of Trump's positions and it would not have mattered. The reason he was considered socialist was simply because he was not a Republican.
I know that I am perhaps becoming a pain in the ass but this is pretty good example of why I thinks that the democrats don't invest enough effort to fight that label. He said a few times he is not a socialist but he should have done that more times and more openly, or give examples. You need to say stuff like this more often that they really land. Not to mention that he could have started a counter over "love letters to Kim", some personal ties etc. The idea that you can't fight this label is kinda self defeat, since it is a cheap way for the other party to create damage to the party.
From their debate:
President Trump: "Your party wants to go Socialist... and they're going to dominate you, Joe. You know that."
Joe Biden: "I am the Democratic Party right now."
