I am very reserved in this kind of thing, I never count my velociraptors until they are hatched.

I'm not sure whether that's because I have been surprised / kicked in the teeth in the past by making assumptions, or due to my natural strategizing of "Never let the opposition know your plans and/or let your opposition remain unmotivated and unaware of what's coming so they won't adjust to avoid it", but I basically wait until it's a done deal, unless it somehow plays into a larger strategy, and then once you know you've won -- once there is no way they can do anything about it -- then grind it in. Sometimes it takes a lot of reserve to keep my mouth shut, but I just don't want to overplay the hand.

I think it's definitely a good idea for whoever is looking into it to keep the best cards close to their chest, so it doesn't give him a chance to interfere.

I was thinking more about the stuff that's already been reported on. Like this past week, NYT has posted a lot about his taxes and what they reveal - quite a bit of it is illegal. It seems like I've been reading similar accusations forever, and it's all scattered across the ether of the internet and it seems like no one is really focused on making a comprehensive list (so that no offenses get left out). I'd love to see a comprehensive list. A comprehensive list *and* a competent opinion of exactly how illegal it is, how much trouble he should expect to get in (stating precedents, etc). I think it would be good for the soul.

There's also the element of exposing undecideds (like stig mentioned, hadn't occurred to me), which could be worth something.

I don't like The Lincoln Project. The reason is these are neo-cons and Never Trumpers that are going to revert right back to supporting the polices that created Trump to begin with. They simply want "civility".

Your comment is as ignorant as suggesting I voted for Biden because I want civility. Have you lost your mind? What did Bernie supporters want - the freedom to walk into a restaurant and urinate on the floor? Some people want to use a bathroom.

Fluff post

Carrey has been an underwhelming Biden. I felt like I was watching one of his characters from Lemony Snickett

If they wanted to replace Sudeikis with an A list name, why not Woody Harrelson? He did a good Biden

Are you part of the Lincoln Project? If not then I'm not talking about you.

And what if I were part of it, then what? Honestly, you'd think you'd be happy their work has hammered through the skulls of a lot of people to get Trump voted out. Are you ever happy about anything? Just curious.

I already voted for Biden. As a individual voter and a delegate of the great State of Michigan. That is the point, yes?

President Donald Trump’s order to his secretary of state to declassify thousands of Hillary Clinton’s emails, along with his insistence that his attorney general issue indictments against Barack Obama and Joe Biden, takes his presidency into new territory — until now, occupied by leaders with names like Putin, Xi and Erdogan.

He is making it clear that prosecutions, like vaccines for the coronavirus, are useless to him if they come after Nov. 3.

I think the steroids are fucking up his brain. He sounds like a lunatic.

Probably to some degree. But I think he is actually quite depressed and he is covering it with counter-phobic approach to just about everything. What is pretty human reaction, especially since this probably isn't how he imagined his presidency when he declared nomination. Therefore if he loses he will be remembered for this mess, what would mess up pretty much everyone on the inside. So now the approach is pure frenzy in trying achieve "something'.

I honestly don't believe he has enough of an internal monologue / self-awareness to consciously be able to articulate or recognize that, he just reacts to things. Even if it is contributing to his behavior... which is just basically a wounded animal with its foot caught in a trap, currently.

Pretty much what you see with him is what you get, though. At least that much is clear. He has an entire documented history of self-obsession, I don't think we need to rely on "underlying motivations" to parse him.

Well, you can have depression without being able to pinpoint it. While the lack of inner monologue is probably what is making the frenzy impression.

Btw. I can't wait for election day (and I am not even American). The whole world is waiting to see what will come out of this.

Few days later.

Alaska: Trump +4.7
Arizona: Biden +4.4
Colorado: Biden +12.8
Florida: Biden +4.6
Georgia: Biden +1.0
Iowa: Biden +0.9
Maine 2nd: Biden +0.9
Michigan: Biden +7.7
Minnesota: Biden +8.8
Missouri: Trump +5.8
Montana: Trump +8.9
Nebraska 2nd: Biden +6.6
Nevada: Biden +6.6
New Hampshire: Biden +9.8
North Carolina: Biden +2.5
Ohio: Biden +0.7
Pennsylvania: Biden +6.9
South Carolina: Trump +5.2
Texas: Trump +1.1
Virginia: Biden +12.1
Wisconsin: Biden +6.9

The start of new week.

Alaska: Trump +4.4
Arizona: Biden +3.9
Colorado: Biden +12.0
Florida: Biden +4.5
Georgia: Biden +0.9
Iowa: Biden +1.0
Maine 2nd: Biden +1.2
Michigan: Biden +8.0
Minnesota: Biden +9.2
Missouri: Trump +5.5
Montana: Trump +8.6
Nebraska 2nd: Biden +7.4
Nevada: Biden +6.8
New Hampshire: Biden +10.8
North Carolina: Biden +2.9
Ohio: Biden +0.7
Pennsylvania: Biden +7.3
South Carolina: Trump +5.3
Texas: Trump +1.5
Virginia: Biden +12.7
Wisconsin: Biden +7.2

Mostly just standard fluctuation, but I would say that they "helped" Biden more.
However Alaska, Missouri and South Carolina are getting almost within margin of error. Therefore if this "slight red drainage" continues surprises are theoretically possible on election day.

People with such an inflated sense of entitlement and who are NPD caliber narcissistic (especially malignant narcissism) lean on a plethora of defense mechanisms to avoid depression. You might be referring to the shitstorm of palpable defense mechanisms happening - Trump is basically just a puppet to his own unconscious impulses, a shitstorm of defense mechanisms incarnate - but I seriously, seriously doubt he ever consciously experiences depression. The whole reason narcissists are such acrobats with reality and phenomenal at spinning reality in a self-serving direction is because of a life-long all-consuming preoccupation with avoiding unwanted feelings/emotions - especially depression (because that's contempt/negative judgement turned inwards, and narcissists *always* ascribe an external reason for those emotions).

If the shitstorm of defense mechanisms belies something in Trump, it's probably panic or distress.
