I am consistently the only one even trying to communicate across ideological divides.

"I consider it a fact that the far left has become a religious cult."
"I find ceecee far more toxic than the media, a consequence of being farther left than an already far left media."
"I feel like most people on the left would be fine with sacrificing their first born to Satan if it meant some kind of comeuppance for Trump."

I feel warm and tingly all over when I read your attempts at communication across ideological divides.

lol I didn't even notice these quotes.

Conservative rhetoric is a hell of a drug but only a right winger deep in the throes of delusion would think the US MSM is far left.

For the record, I never lied about not knowing what TDS was. I'm not a liar, and I don't appreciate the accusation.

I forgot what the acronym "TDS" stood for and had to refresh my memory by looking it up. I'm not sure what anyone thinks I'd have to gain for lying about something so irrelevantly petty, but I can certainly guess what they would have to gain by declaring so.

Yes, it is nonsense. Here Biden would not be able to govern in his current form at all since he is economically too far to the right (and we aren't even "far left" country anymore).
But to be honest there are days when I wonder what would happen if in the elections like 2020 on either side you would replace one of the candidate with my conservative prime minister. Which doesn't seem to fit US boxes at all. Socially fairly conservative and in economy to the left of Bernie. Someone who is at the same time for anti-immigration and for medicare for all. Someone who is for green new deal but is quietly phasing out abortion rights. Someone who is in very good relations with the churches but is very serious about the masks. Someone who is pro military but is also pro free collage as well. How would US "digest" such a "Frankenstein" and would it embrace it through some weird coalition. I know it wouldn't happen but such social experiment would be quite interesting to watch. Or in short how would our version of Conservatism pass in US.

Phasing out abortion and the larger issues of women's rights, especially health care and bodily autonomy is off the table for most women and a lot of men in the US. It's a health care issue, not an issue the govt. should be involved in at all.

Pro military and pro free college? Sure. As soon as military is pulled out of all conflicts on earth that aren't issues because of an attack or imminent invasion attempt (lol I know but for arguments sake).

Anti-immigration is going to be an issue regardless, as falling birth rates are an issue in many countries. The US has always had immigration, it's necessary, not only to the economy but the values and vision is something I'm going to insist the US adhere to. It makes no difference what the current brain damaged rhetoric is saying.

I truly do not care about personal conservative views. But when someone attempts to force them on me via legislation, we have a problem. I'm not forcing progressive views on anyone, no matter what the pearl clutchers think. No one is forcing them into gay marriage, to have an abortion, to fund immigrants becoming citizens legally or any crazy assed view. I don't mean you, I mean Americans. I don't find your views to be difficult to understand or even embrace in some ways at all.

Sure, but evidently there are many people around the country or even forum who don't think like you.
Btw by abortion I mean just abortion and the one that isn't medically justified. While everything else regarding female health is going under "Medicare for all" part. Plus doing phase out isn't really the same thing as outright ideological ban (especially if you are to some degree educating people in order to control the problem). While I am pretty sure you can do without mass immigration and here that isn't seen as racists position (our left agrees with this). While the right isn't for militarization of police and here the Floyd thing can't really happen inside "standard practice". Therefore I am certain that this replacement and dragging in my PM would be "interesting" experiment if it were to happen. Since here the boxes and paradigms are quite differently scattered and defined.

Just today we had a hard right protest/stunt over the fact that one harbor doesn't have sewer purification filters. Led by ex. army veteran. :D

I mean the conversation went how the right always complains about far left. Therefore I simply said that it would be interesting to see what would happen if for a change they would get a different kind of right as election opponent.

Chicago raises bridges after night of violence and looting

On Sunday, Chicago police shot and injured a gun-wielding man who fired shots at the officers during a pursuit, according to Fox 32, a local Chicago affiliate.

"During the foot pursuit, the offender turned and fired shots at the officers. The officers then returned, discharging their weapon," said Deputy Chief Tally.

Neighbors became angry and started protesting against law enforcement. Authorities said this began after a false rumor that police shot and wounded a young child.

Hundreds of people poured into the streets in the wee hours of Monday morning, and police said they smashed windows, looted stores, confronted law enforcement, according to the Chicago Tribune. At one point, people exchanged gunfire with officers,

More than 100 arrests were made and 13 officers were hurt during the unrest, Chicago Police Superintendent David Brown said during a press conference Monday morning.

Chicago Transit Authority suspended their morning services in some areas at the request of law enforcement officials. City officials raised bridges across the Chicago River except for one to allow for emergency vehicle access.

More shootings overnight add to Detroit's increasing violent crime

A day after Detroit’s police chief addressed concerns that violent crime is on the rise, there were four more shootings. Among the victims: A mother and her 2-year-old daughter.

From about 7 p.m. Monday to almost 4 a.m. Tuesday, there were four separate shootings, adding to a growing number of incidents even as demonstrators — for nearly three months — have demanded the police force be scaled back.

Seattle Police Chief Resigns After Budget Cuts - WSJ

First black police chief in Seattle forced out by white wokesters.

Black Americans Want Police to Retain Local Presence

81 percent of black people surveyed want police presence to be equal to or more than the current presence. While more upper middle class white leftists call for or condone the looting rioting and burning of most of these communities of color "for their own good," to you know "address systemic racism."

Have I ever mentioned how much I genuinely hate being right all the time? Lunatic activism ladies and gentlemen, ain't it grand.

FactCheck: do black Americans commit more crime? – Channel 4 News

"To be continued..." they said.

Later, in 2020...
*all hell breaks loose*

I find it amazing that the people in this thread screaming about the recent violence/length of protests haven't considered why crime is up. Like there isn't something, I dunno, causing mass homelessness, hunger, job loss or illness and death like all at once. What could it be? I dunnooooo?? 🤪

The poor and hopeless commit crimes, in the US that population happens to be african american, for a bunch of reasons.

I see it as being about class struggles rather than race but I've been told that's racist by liberal friends before.

To be honest, there's crime and there's crime, criminals doing criminal things is one thing, the authorities and law enforcement doing criminal things? Much worse, much more serious, completely different matter and its understandable that people are MORE concerned about that.

The rule of law is an absolute minimum, you can have NOTHING without it, and its got to apply to everyone but especially those who claim to be acting on behalf of the idea.

Yeah. Especially people who smugly mocked the "fear mongers" regarding the damage Trump could potentially cause ("like he's going to start WW3"), but who are now freaking out about the rioting - seemingly oblivious of the extent to which it's directly because of all the things those 'afflicted' with TDS have been pointing at this whole time. There are issues that existed before him, but they would not have come to a head and resulted in rioting without him. Practically anyone else's leadership might have avoided it. We could potentially have elected a bag of Cool Ranch Doritos and be in a better position than we are right now.
