I remember having some 'sort of arguments' about politics with my ex-boyfriend when we were together. He was super-conspiracy theory oriented. He also was more sympathetic towards Trump than me, but I thought he had some reservations. I just found out that he actively supports Trump. That does speak volumes about a person. I think it is valid to be a conservative, a republican, a democrat, a socialist, ideologically and be a reasonable person, but the personalized support of actual Trump shows a lack of character. I did kinda dodge a bullet there.

Generally speaking, I think people obsessed with conspiracy theories, for the most part, are kinda red flags for me. Personally, I'm not surprised so many of those people gravitated to Trump.

Plus, they like to think of themselves as more enlightened and intelligent than the "sheeple" but are just guilty of really lazy thinking, and I actually think they cling to their conspiracy theories as a kind of security blanket.

I met somebody (in there 60s, I think) who was convinced Bush did 9/11 and I said that I just chalked the whole thing up to incompetence. His response to me was very telling, "Would you rather they be incompetent or all powerful and malicious?" I mean, what does "what I prefer" have to do with it?

Now, I don't know if this guy personally voted for Trump or not (he probably didn't) but I don't think Alex Jones would have been so popular without the popularity of 9/11 conspiracy theories. Conspiracy theories are kind of like a gateway drug for the alt-right, even if some people might stop short of going that way.

I don’t think Bush did 9/11, but I think it’s plausible that his administration had ample warning of an impending attack and could have allowed it to happen in order to gain public support for their Middle East agenda.

I’ve never really followed Jones closely but I had more respect for him pre-2015. At some point he just became a Trump propagandist and started echoing far right talking points.

Maybe. I mean more the convoluted shit about jet fuel not melting steel beams, remote control planes, and thermite. The things people "just ask questions" about. The plot of Attack of the Clones is less convoluted.

Yeah I don’t pay much mind to that stuff. I think it was pissed off jihadists. They were not stupid, they were intelligent, well trained paramilitaries handpicked by Bin Laden.

I don't think Cheyney is that good at being an evil mastermind to fake all of that. And if the terrorist thing was a smokescreen, why not make the terrorists Iraqi? That would have suited him much better.

Exactly. If there was a conspiracy, it involved misleading congress about faulty intelligence reports and repeatedly insisting a connection between Iraq and Al Qaeda, despite the fact that Hussein and Bin Laden weren’t exactly besties and came from feuding Islamic denominations. At most they were allies in a “my enemy’s enemy” sense. They probably regarded one another as Vader and Jabba regarded one another.

The best conspiracy theories are lovecraftian in flavor. Google is Nyarlanthotep, Facebook is designed by the Meego. Mark Zuckerburg is a brain in a jar serving the fungi of Yuggoth. Humanity is the food of its ancient masters predators who divised a way for their prey to domesticate itself serving itself up for their unknowable decadent pleasures when the stars are right. Anything less would be uncivilized.

I don't entirely mind hearing the entertaining stuff - but it helps if people are a little stoned first.

That, my dear Ravenetta, is true about life in general.
I did smoke weed when I lived in the desert and it helped me a lot. Now I moved and have no weed guy. I don't know how to get a "weed guy". :sadbanana:

Also, the laws are strict here right now :nono: it was decriminalized where I lived before.

You means like the ones involving Nibiru? I do like those.

Don't forget the Elohim and the Annunaki!

Or there's also a hidden frequency that's driving humanity slowly mad. It's hidden in the noise pollution... Or if you look at the way technology is expanding from space at night the light patterns of the earth is starting to resemble a giant spherical microchip.

Does anyone think there are any NFs alive in North Korea, or did Kim kill them all?

We are a microchip. The universe is a computer
