What do you think they would make of what they found, assuming that there would be historians and archaeologists by that point? (I suppose 1000 years in the future is a a good date to use for this scenario. )

I think they'd be genuinely perplexed by the paucity of references to Mambo #1-4#; they'd find a brief spike in Mambo #5 references towards the tail end of the 1990s, but almost nothing about any of the other mambos. I imagine all kinds of crazy theories would be generated about the content of the missing mambos.

Most of our crap will be rusted or rotted away by the year 3000, except for the mountains of Styrofoam and plastic objects we'll leave behind, but I assume you're wondering what they'd think of our customs and culture and not so much of our pop vinyls and used Tupperware--although those will certainly say a lot about how disposable late 20th and early 21st century culture really was.

Why wouldn't they know about biodegradability?
