I never thought I would ever see myself doing this again in a million years, but since I just wasted a huge chunk of my life filling this out, I didn't want it to go to waste, so here it is:
1) Context:
a) What is your age range and general location (Country so that cultural values can be taken into account)? Do you have any impairments that may affect the way that you answer this questionnaire? Any religious or political beliefs (or anything else along those lines) that also might have an effect?
- Mid-twenties, West Coast region, U.S.A.
- Not that I'm aware of.
- Ehh...sort of, but they are personal.
b) Which types are you currently considering? Why are you considering them and why haven’t you decided on one?
ISFP, but I almost always test as an INFP now as I've grown older. Also 4w5 for the enneagram, or maybe 4w3 if social blind. Might even be open to 9 in some cases.
2) What do you deem as your purpose in life?
Being an artist primarily, while bringing a new, creative way of looking at the world through an artistic lens.
3) Of the seven deadly sins, which one(s) do you relate to the most and the least and why?
Most
Envy: It used to be pretty terrible, but over the years it's gotten better. I've trained myself to not give into it as much as I used to and to focus primarily on self-improvement.
Sloth: Still have issues here. Structure is a big one.
Least
Wrath: I seldom get intense bouts of anger.
4) Analyzing your relationships with others, briefly describe:
a) The type of people you are drawn to
Interesting, kind, humorous, eccentric, open-minded, clever, artistically interested people.
b) The type of people who are drawn to you
Outgoing people and Fe types. Not sure why. I guess they find me mysterious or something?
c) The type of people you are repulsed by
Rude, mean-spirited, conniving assholes.
5)What are the traits in others that you admire but you cannot emulate yourself? Elaborate.
Strong, fearless, ass-kicking women. Most of my biggest influences are women who display these traits. I'm unfortunately not as brave as they are and pretty lame in comparison.
Also admire the ever so humble e9 spiritual hippie guru types. They have this pure, innocent aura about them that's not overcome by jealousy, this ethereal groundedness that I will probably never amount to no matter how many kundalini awakenings I go through in this lifetime.
6) Describe your relationship with the following:
a) Anger: It's more passive and often converts to sadness. It manifests more as passive aggression than raging outbursts. I often try to suppress it and it usually doesn't last very long either, as I can't hold a grudge to save my life.
b) Shame: This is a big one. I hold a lot of it and keep most of it to myself. I very rarely approach people if something is bothering me because I'm too embarrassed to talk in depth about it, get overly emotional, and loathe appearing needy.
c) Fear: I hold plenty of anxiety. A lot of it is restrained though, but it's there. I tend to avoid a lot of my fears rather than confront them head on.
d) Love/passion: I need to have something outward from myself to dedicate my time to. A love for something, especially a passion and purpose of sorts, is probably the highest on my list.
e) Conflict: I often avoid as much as possible. I'm the type that needs to escape from anything I consider overbearing. A need to be by myself in order to recharge from all that gunk.
7) What are some of the themes that have played a prominent role in your life (ie. A struggle you’ve been unable to conquer, ect)?
Wanting to get close as possible to accomplishing my ideals, yet often feeling either unsatisfied afterwards or never reaching them. Also, never seeming to find a place in this world and feeling like an alien. Rinse, repeat.
8) Answer only one of the following:
a) [College aged and above] What is your area of work/study? Why did you choose this and would you change it? If so, what would be your ideal?
Graphic design. However, I would have gone another route and maybe would have skipped the latter part of college altogether knowing what I know now, but I'm unsure I would have been able to because...parents' influence. I would have put most of my time towards painting instead.
9) When meeting a new person, what do you tend to focus on?
To see if we have anything in common. Sometimes I get perceptions of who I think they are and that can cloud my vision towards a more objective perspective. As of now, I also try to find a good trait in everyone out of habit.
10) How do you feel about humanity as a whole? What do you feel are some of the biggest problems the human race faces and why?
I'm not very impressed with humanity as a whole, especially where we seem to be going as a species. I think one of the biggest problems besides corruption, poverty, environmental and "earthling" rights issues that's not addressed as often is social isolation. Humans are very tribal people, and I believe having a group of people to depend on and communicate with on a regular basis is healthy for us in general, regardless of our level of introversion. Many people, at least in the part of the western world I reside in, rarely if ever socialize with their neighbors anymore, lack a community of sorts, etc. It's probably a big reason why there are so many young people today feeling alienated and lost. Many of us cling to technology (including myself) without embracing the real world as much as we used to. I feel as much as technology has been a wonderful asset, it's also been a huge detriment in other ways. I vote for a future where communal living will be the new norm to counteract this.
11) What are some of your hobbies and interests?
Painting, anything artistic and a bit underground/counterculture, yoga, music collecting, reading, health, veganism, spiritual matters and forms of divination connected to it.
13) How do you usually “hang out†with your friend(s)? When answering, think about what activities you tend to choose, whether you hang out with one person at once or many, whether or not you initiate the interaction.
I don't see them very often anymore, but we usually socialize together and catch up on our own lives. Nowadays it's mostly a little get-together. I don't initiate as much as I used to either.
14) What is more important, actions or words? Why?
Overall, actions over words. However, words can definitely be powerful depending on the circumstances.
15) Oh dear, you’ve been cursed by a witch! It’s ok though, you get a choice on which curse you will receive. Will you choose….
a) To never be able to experience the sensation of taste
b) To be immortal
c) To lose your memories
d) To be poor for the rest of your life
e) Or to never experience passion
Elaborate on why!
Probably A. I can live without taste and would prefer to "eat to live" rather than "live to eat" for health reasons.
16) What do you hope to avoid being? If it helps, describe a person who embodies what you avoid/you as a villain, ect.
I hope to avoid being absolutely useless as a human. I'd want to contribute something to the world, and also to those I love the most. I want to be a good person overall, one that doesn't possess most of those deadly sins...
Also wouldn't want to be "average", as grossly pompous as that sounds.
17) How do you relate to obsession? Do you tend to "merge" with others or your interests? How do you feel about the idea of doing this?
I can be really obsessed with the object of my desire. I can actually merge to an extent with other people if we have a connection, and especially with my interests. I don't have as many issues with this because I think without obsessing over something, greatness would never be achieved. It all depends on what you obsess over and if something practical can come out of it for best results. However, it's important to be aware of how much of an addictive personality one has and to stay away from potentially destructive areas where it could lead to that, if possible. I need to start taking notes...
18) Organized or messy? Plans and blueprints or impulse and surprises? What are you preferences and tendencies?
I'm a hopeless mess in real life. Being organized is something that takes A LOT of effort.
I would rather it be a bit of both. I prefer being notified for important stuff ahead of time, but I think a life without surprises, both good and bad, would be awfully boring.
19) How do you subjectively view comfort and how do you create comfort in your life and surroundings?
I view comfort as something where I'm totally content in life. I don't have as many worries and can freely do what I desire. I also see it physically, in the form of needing some sort of sanctuary for myself in order to be completely free, especially important since I'm extremely introverted. And to be in good physical and mental health, because otherwise it messes with my mind and makes me feel like I'm going insane. Adding to that, a support system with as few toxic people as possible would make life that much easier too.
